| Getting an MOT with no tax | 31 Jul 2007 20:15 GMT | 7 |
Am I right in thinking it's legal to drive to a pre-booked MOT with no Tax as long as you're insured? Is it possible to insure a non-MOTed car for use on the road?

Hi Chaps I've just had a look at a neighbour's 1998/9 Focus 1.6. It's running badly- the idle is a bit shaky and it's down on power. I did try to get some fault codes out of it with VAG-COM in ODB-II mode, but it complains

| Clutch - pre-emptive replacement or wait a bit longer? | 30 Jul 2007 21:57 GMT | 12 |
I have a 2001 Honda Accord SE (2litre) which has 107,000 miles on the clock. As far as a I know it's still on the original clutch. (I bought the car second hand a few years ago when it had around 65,000 mls). I'm not sure, but I suspect that 100,000+ miles on a clutch is better ...

| Sparkplug tightening? | 30 Jul 2007 21:06 GMT | 5 |
Just done a service on my Daewoo Lanos (8v) but I'm not sure if I've undertightened the plugs. I fitted standard Bosch Super plugs which have a washer and put a smear of grease on the top of the threads and hand tightened them first. If you imagine a clock face with the ratchet ...

| Boling Over damage? | 29 Jul 2007 16:48 GMT | 6 |
I just had a cooling hose split on me with the inevitable overboiling (smoke from the rear and steam/smoke from the bonnet. Got a tow back, but wondered if there is likely to be any lasting damage to the engine (as there seems to be some oil "spillage")?

Just recently the ole 180K (1.9 Pug) Rover has started hesitating or faltering on light throttle loads at around 2k rpm. Accelerate or change gear (to move away from the 2K area) and it goes away / becomes less noticeable. Over the last couple of days in particular it's

How difficult is it to make one of these ? Not sure of the best place to attach to underbody of van. I've got the ball/hitch from an old Citroen AX and that was a diy job. I need to tow the occasional trailer full of horse sh*t.
