The plastic radiator fan on my 1997 Audi A4 Avant 1.9tdi has
shattered, probably 2 blades left on it, do I have to replace the
whole assembly, I assume it has a motor and all the gubbins or is it
possible just to replace the blades?

Portuguese Barn full of Classic Cars27 Jul 2007 10:28 GMT2
Probably most petrolheads know about this, but if not - somebody
bought a farm in Portugal which had an enormous barn with the doors
welded shut. Inside were 180 classic cars.

Air Conditioning Intermittent27 Jul 2007 10:24 GMT9
My wife's 1997 Mondeo 1.8LX's aircon has started behaving strangely.
It usually works fine, but on several occasions recently, it has
stopped working while the car was sitting in a traffic jam. Once out
of the traffic jam, it remains non-functional for a seemingly
Do I repair scratch or not?27 Jul 2007 09:37 GMT19
As the family grows, so must the car, so we're looking to sell ours and
replace it with a people carrier. Thing is, my wife scratched it over the
nearside rear wheel arch (only top layer of paint - not down to bare metal)
so I can't decide whether to go to the expense of having ...
Upper fanbelt adjustment on 1.6TD VW camper26 Jul 2007 23:10 GMT6
Bit too much play (over an inch either way) on top belt on our

there is a right way and a wrong way, so anyone care to advise
on correct adjustment and how to please.

Cam Belt tensioner - where do I stand?26 Jul 2007 12:43 GMT4
The cam belt tensioner has gone on my Daewoo Nexia 16V causing
expensive damage - the car isn't worth enough to justify the repair.
I am a bit pi55ed off though because a couple of months ago I had a
new water pump and while they had it off, they replaced the cam belt.
Additional petrol filter26 Jul 2007 09:56 GMT12
I'd like to add an additional petrol filter before the high pressure pump
on my EFI SD1 - I've had problems with the non-return valve inside it
blocking and I'd guess the internal tank filter has failed - seems they
fall off. The likes of Demon Tweeks sell them but at a pretty high ...
