Focus TDCi Engine Light17 Jul 2007 19:48 GMT11
My 2004 Focus TDCi just ticked over the 60,000 miles mark at the
weekend and I noticed the engine warning light is illuminated.  Is it
telling me its time for a 60,000 mile service?  or is it coincidental and
there is an engine fault?

Mondeo tie bar bushes17 Jul 2007 13:32 GMT9
I've noticed some knocking from the back end of my Mk2 Mondeo (hatch), I've
had a quick look today and the bushes in the rear suspension knuckle where
the tie bars attach are knackered.
I've had a quick google and it looks like the knuckle has to come off, or
Daewoo Kalos question17 Jul 2007 13:30 GMT1
My wife's Kalos seems to have developed (or have I only just noticed it)
quite a lot of play (fore and aft)  on the gear lever. I checked under the
gaiter and there is no lost movement under the lever. I couldn't get my wife
out in the rain to waggle the lever whilst I looked ...
Bloody garages  - again.17 Jul 2007 13:25 GMT2
Had the auto on my SD1 overhauled by a local company a couple of years
ago. They were recommended by all I asked in the local trade. Made a fair
job of the actual overhaul but not of the installation. Probably different
fitters. When I got it back the exhaust was blowing. Being ...
2001 (X) Fiesta Zetec S Rear Axel Bushes17 Jul 2007 13:23 GMT4
My friend has just bought one of these from a garage, it has covered
49k miles with one owner from new.
I thought it was a little strange that they had replaced both rear
shock absorbers claiming them to have both been faulty but on driving

will try and find things so they can make money.
I was wondering 2 things -

Pride & Pejudice....16 Jul 2007 22:12 GMT152
Possibly as a subliminal response to the recent television 4x4 hate fest I
recently bought a smallish four wheel drive to tow our caravan (after the
trusty Alhambra got stuck on a caravan rally field)
Since buying the car (Kia Sportage 138 bhp, 40mpg) I've become increasingly
MoT question16 Jul 2007 19:19 GMT1
One of the steering gaiters on my car is broken, right at the thin end where
it's clipped to the steering arm that goes to the tie rod.
My question is, if I pull the gaiter up a bit and re-attach it using a clip
round what is now the thin end, is that acceptable for MoT purposes?
Astra engine management question.16 Jul 2007 13:40 GMT6
While reversing my car at lunch time today my foot slipped right of
the clutch causing the car to do the worst kangaroo I have ever had
(including when I was learning).  After a couple of seconds of bumping
and lurching I switched the engine off (seemed liek a plan at the
steam cleaning engine - good or bad?16 Jul 2007 10:54 GMT3
I just wondered what the opinion is as several years ago I had a
decent bmw that had some work done by a dealer. They steam cleaned the
engine and the idle was all over the place afterwards - on what was a
rock steady engine before.

Ford Fiesta - design fault??15 Jul 2007 19:09 GMT10
I wonder if anyone can help.
I have a 3 year old Ford Fiesta which has a problem with the seat.
Underneath the drivers seat, there is that bar which when you pull up
moves the seat back or foward then locks it into position.
