VW EGR valve14 Jul 2007 17:06 GMT2
I'd like to experiment with disabling the EGR valve on my VW (140ps TDi PD
engine) and before I take it somewhere to get it done properly via VAGCOM, I
thought it would be worth trying a temporary physical disablement to see if
there's any benefit.

Fixing a fuel tank13 Jul 2007 16:46 GMT3
I've finally got round to tracing an annoying tinny rattle on the SD1. It
appears to be coming from the fuel tank. To get at this easily means
lifting the entire car as it's located forward of the boot. So had to wait
for a few days of reasonable weather since I've not got a garage.

Hi I've just filled the tank up on my Triumph Stag, I filled it pretty
much to the brim. I noticed quite a bad leak coming from underneath
the tank before I drove off and this was a drip every second. After
I'd left it for half an hour the leak had stopped and it's now bone
Exhaust deposits ...12 Jul 2007 23:25 GMT4

and powdery - too lean. Black and sooty - too rich.
Now, even though the engine management unit keeps the mixture
