Rear Lights - Peugeot 20531 Aug 2007 22:25 GMT5
I've got a 1990/91 Peugeot 205.  I was investigating the rear lights
today when it dawned on me that the car doesn't appear to have reversing
lights.  I thought they were fitted as standard long before the early
1990s, so can any of you think what I might be missing?  It's a bit
Mondeo front bushes31 Aug 2007 22:19 GMT3
Right, I've decided to try and sort out all the infamous bushes on the
front of my Mk.1 Mondeo.
From a quick look, it seems like the swing arm bushes all need
changing, as do the anti roll bar bushes.
Injector problems after cleaning?31 Aug 2007 21:47 GMT15
I decided to treat my Daewoo Lanos injectors to a professional service &
ultrasonic clean.  It ran very well before having them serviced but with
over 116k miles I thought it would do it good - Big mistake.  Fitted the
serviced injectors and it ran like a bag of shite!  Idles lumpy, ...
Fitting of new fron struts - affect tracking?31 Aug 2007 19:13 GMT3
After having mine done I've noticed the steering wheel is now ever so
slighjtly off centre? And it doesnt 'feel' right?
Can fitting of new front struts/shocks affect this? Or am I imagining
it?
TWA Autoelectrics, Corporation Rd, Newport -AVOID !!!!31 Aug 2007 13:51 GMT38
harged me £80 to diagnose a faulty ABS sensor - fair enough.
Its now been a week and about 15 phone calls trying to get them book
my car back in to have this done. Their excuse - they need to go back
through the filed paperwork to see what needs ordering !!!
Fiesta 1.4 tdci vs Peugeot 206 1.4 HDi31 Aug 2007 07:45 GMT6
I'm swapping selling the Zafira to get something cheaper to run and
it's down to the Fiesta or Peugeot 206 Diesels, I knoe they both have
the same engine, but does the 206 have 16 valves on the head?
anybody have either of these, and what is real world MPG, I had a
Pay at the pump31 Aug 2007 00:59 GMT40
There is no check on ID when a card is used at a petrol pump at Tesco.
If you lose a card and some louse finds it, you could find that he and
his mates are filling their cars at your expense.
I believe there may be a 'one use a day' limitation built in.
Charcoal canisters30 Aug 2007 19:05 GMT1
My Nissan has a charcoal canister and there are four pipes:
One coming from the petrol tank, I assume this is the 'vapours'.
One at the bottom going back under the car, I assume this is for liquid
petrol to drain back into the tank.
Setting rear brake self adjusters30 Aug 2007 18:59 GMT18
I'm struggling with what I assume is a very simple task.  When I re-fit
my rear drum brakes, Haynes states that I should set the self adjuster
mechanisms and then adjust the handbrake.  Sounds simple, but it doesn't
say how.
Electrical cars30 Aug 2007 15:01 GMT52
The problem of the electrical cars' range can be solved if we install
terminals of recharging everywhere, including on the aeries of
freeways. Since the complete recharging takes several hours, it is
possible to reduce it by equipping every battery of an independent
New CV boot leads to knocking noise30 Aug 2007 13:09 GMT3
Nissan Micra. I had a split CV boot replaced for MOT 2 weeks ago.
Now there is a knocking sound when going up a hill on the motorway.
What gives? The CV joint didn't knock before replacement of the boot.

VW Polo dies accelerating29 Aug 2007 22:45 GMT7
I recently took my 1991 1.3 Polo to my local (non VW) garage as it had
begun
to overheat after a very brief run.  I drove the car to the garage

Satnavs - (OT re maintenance, but this is a good group!)29 Aug 2007 20:30 GMT7
This may be slightly OT but I hope of interest to this group.
I have a couple of years old Acer N35 with Satnav, using Destinator 6.  The
maps are a bit old now, which can be a difficulty sometimes so I'm
interested in an upgrade/replacement, but only if it's materially better, so ...

to get a replacement.
