| Wing mirror help please? | 04 Aug 2007 08:40 GMT | 9 |
Can anyone help me out? My wife insists that some cars if not all cars used to come with only one wing mirror as standard but she's unsure exactly which side. I really can't remember this although I'm sure if it was a fact that i

| Tightening cylinder head bolts by angle rather than torque. | 03 Aug 2007 22:26 GMT | 5 |
Can anybody explain the logic of the angle plate method of doing cylinder head bolts instead of torque wrench? Surely tightening by a given angle must translate to a specific torque figure? My question is a bit academic now as I've just used the angle plate method

| Easibleed - how's it work / made? | 03 Aug 2007 21:07 GMT | 16 |
I'm thinking of making my own pressure bleeder to run off my compressor, or adapting an easibleed, as the pro type kit is expensive for what it is, IMO. All I can see that is needed is a master cylinder cap that seals well, a pressure vessel of some kind with air pressure ...

| Removing oil based paint from plastic trim.. | 02 Aug 2007 21:34 GMT | 1 |
Someone I vaguely know has had a car vandalised by somebody throwing (oil based) paint on it.. she's tried a few things to get it off, but hasn't dared try anything too vicious in case it melts/discolours the plastic.

| Spraying technique etc. | 02 Aug 2007 21:13 GMT | 2 |
Sorry if this sounds obvious to some... When spraying part of a panel, should you mask off and spray right up to the masked off bit? This leaves a bit of a line when you remove the masked off bit....

| Piston Scoring | 02 Aug 2007 16:38 GMT | 21 |
I've had to remove the head and barrels on my 1978 Moto Guzzi (it's a V twin 850cc motorcycle) to investigate a noisy cam follower. Unfortunately I was met with these rather sorry looking pistons. http://www.sweller.dynalias.org/guzzipistons/

| Seized spark plug | 01 Aug 2007 19:19 GMT | 20 |
I've got a spark plug that appears to be seized into the head of my Golf (MK2, 8V GTI, PB engine). The other 3 came out quite happily with an 8 inch bar using a surface drive socket. I'm loathe to apply a lot of force for fear of it shearing off in the head, but the plugs do need ...

| Modeo MK1 Towbar Electrics | 01 Aug 2007 14:40 GMT | 3 |
I've just fitted the towbar and now I'm about to fit the electrics. I know how to wire it up, but every car I've fitted before has always had a grommet in the back to remove to allow the wire through. What is the path for a Mondeo estate - without drilling a hole !!
