Got a 2004 Focus Mk1, TDCI Zetec with Aircon.
The heater/blower fan is now a little noisy (speed varies a little, most
noticeable on high speeds).
Seems to improve a lot (i.e becomes constant) when I select the re-cirdulate

My brother reckons on Colway for his old BMW which has fairly difficult to
find 14" tyres. And being a semi-trailing arm one it's a bit tail happy in
the wet. He's on his third set with no problems.
So I got a set for my SD1. Five for the price of two 'brands'. And they

I have a Hyundai Accent 1998, It has recently started overheating, mainly in
traffic.  I have loken for a manual for this particular engine but to no
avail.  I have realised the fault is with the fan not kicking  in.  Where is
the sensor situated that controls the fan?  I am ...
Toyota Corolla 2002 1.4?21 Aug 2007 21:25 GMT2
What is the general opinion about the 1.4 engine on the 2002 (and
newer if I am lucky :-)) Corolla? Is it as underpowered as (for
example) on the Focus? Are high-milers best avoided? Any known
troublespots for the 5d hatchback? Does this car take forward the
Overcooling21 Aug 2007 20:55 GMT4
2001 1.6 Astra - had a lift in it and noticed that the temp gauge was
hovering on cold (70 degrees if markings are to be believed) despite
having just driven 40 miles on the motorway. We went into a town and it
rose a bit but fell again when we got back up to speed.
Mondeo creaking... more than usual...21 Aug 2007 19:36 GMT6
My Mk1 Mondeo (Bangernomics rules!) has developed a creak just at the
point when I stop fairly hard acceleration, ready to change gear.
It's only a quick creak (sounds similar to the classic Vauxhall 'clutch
pedal squeak') and otherwise the car drives perfectly normally.

My wife has an R-reg Escort LX (Zetec engine) as a runaround but
recently it's been very hit and miss getting it to start (mainly, but
not exclusively) when cold.
