1.6TD 86 Camper pulley and shims?20 Aug 2007 19:26 GMT4
Anyone got much experience of the rather interesting area of trying
to get the waterpump belt at the right adjustment on VW campers
with the 1.6TD watercooled motor.  I am running on no shims at
the moment and the belt really is too loose.
Ford Focus annoying front-end creak20 Aug 2007 04:44 GMT8
My 2003 Ford Focus TDCI has developed an extremely annoying creak/
groan that's driving me batty.
It creaks/groans loudly from the front end under certain conditions,
mainly during left-hand turns and on heavily-cambered roundabouts.
Removing brake line nuts?19 Aug 2007 18:35 GMT9
If we get a break from the rain, I'll be attempting to fit a new brake
compensator valve on the rear of my Escort van tomorrow.
Having given it a good inspection, it shouldnt be too bad a job, unless
the unions are seized.
Finding Correct Tyre Pressure?19 Aug 2007 10:54 GMT7
Where is a good place to find out what the correct tyre pressure is for a
tyre/car.
In days gone by a chart could alway be found displayed at a garage next to
the compressor.
Car alarm19 Aug 2007 10:09 GMT7
Been toying with the idea of getting a car alarm, a Toad AI606 has been
recommended to me. They cost about £140.
I've never really liked the idea as an alarm is only as good as who ever
responds to it and these days including myself if I hear an alarm I think
Can pressure bleeding kits be used on hydraulic clutches?18 Aug 2007 14:32 GMT4
On all my previous cars, I've used a brake bleeding kit powered by a
compressor when changing the brake fluid every two years....
basically I fill a bottle with brake fluid, connect air compressor to said
bottle which is in turn connected to the brake fluid reservoir, and I can
Brake pipes - MK2 Golf18 Aug 2007 11:45 GMT4
I'm trying to swap my brake pipes (as in the metal ones) on the rear beam.
I've got the hoses off at the caliper end, but I can't get the brake pipes
off the hoses under the beam, near the mounts / bushes. The driver's side is
nearly rounded off and the passenger side is almost ...

Nissan Micra S 2006 1.2 automatic18 Aug 2007 08:43 GMT3
I have 2003 Nissan Micra, and I have a problem. The car has remote
control central locking, when I lock the doors with the remote key
fob
all the doors lock normal. But when I unlock the doors using the
Re: Earlier Posting Mondeo Battery17 Aug 2007 21:22 GMT9
Just a message for all the people (including battery sellers) who say
that Fords insistence on the use of a Silver/Calcium battery on the
later Mondeos is a load of bollocks.
I have just proved that it is imperative to use a Silver/Ca battery on
Setting up a vans rear brake compensator?17 Aug 2007 16:06 GMT7
The rear brake compensator valve on my Escort van has failed the MOT, so
if I can get a new one today, I'll be fitting it over the weekend.
The MOT tester told me to make sure it is set-up correctly when fitted -
by this I assumed he meant there was adjustment for back to front, or
Mondeo Mk1 car alarm with a mind of it's own17 Aug 2007 15:55 GMT4
My Mondeo alarm (standard Ford) keeps going off for no apparent reason! The
car is not being moved or "bumped about", it's not raining, it's not windy,
there are no flies buzzing about inside etc... In short I can't see why it's
doing it! Short circuit perhaps?
Dashboard lights - how to access?17 Aug 2007 09:19 GMT10
I've had some light bulbs blow in the dashboard illumination display
on my 1996 Audi cabriolet 2.6. How do I access the light bulbs behind
the dashboard displays?
Primer and rain17 Aug 2007 08:42 GMT5
If I have a bodypart in primer and I put it on my car awaiting a bodyshop
apointment which is about 1 and half weeks. Would the rain do and damage to
it ?
As I don't have anywhere to store it away from the elements.

The Power Steering Pressure Sensor on my Focus failed, dumping all
fuel and getting me nicely stranded.
This has now been fixed, but what is this part?
Thanks for any answers,
