Missing fusebox info16 Aug 2007 19:51 GMT6
I had recent problems with my washer when I discovered that my handbook
wasn't much use for identifying fuses and that my VW Touran (06) seemed to
be missing a sticker identifying the fuses next to the fusebox.  (It was a
mechanic at the dealer who told me that there ought to be ...
Primera Opinions16 Aug 2007 18:31 GMT11
Thought I'd have a look at a newer car today.
Lovely looking car, but my first thought was "Respray". Can't prove it.
But. Still it was nice, and couldn't see any major or minor structural
issues.
Radiator switches & Aircon16 Aug 2007 17:04 GMT4
My trusty old Cavalier has been overheating. The fan wasn't cutting
inwhen it should, but the aircon was working fine - nice and cold. ( I
believe the same system was fitted to early Vectras and Omegas too )
I shorted out the wires from the 3 pin fan switch, and the fan ran.
Ford Transit Valve settings16 Aug 2007 15:11 GMT2
I run a Ford Transit with direct injection (non turbo) 2.5ltr diesel engine.
The valves need adjusting but its so long since I last did this (simple!)
job, and also am not familiar with Ford engines so;
1) At which end is valve No.1....the front, or the rear?
recon bumper advice16 Aug 2007 12:49 GMT6
Got myself a bumper from a scrapy. Has some scuffs and dings but nothing a
bitof bumper fill won't cure.
Simple question as its in finished form e.g. all the lacquer on it and I
need to rub that down with what grade wet and dry ?
Brake light bulbs: standard replacements for UK motors?16 Aug 2007 12:06 GMT25
Are all replacement bulbs for UK motors of a standard type and size?
I am looking to replace the brake light on my K11 Micra.
I bought a "bog standard" brake light replacement bulb from Wilko's.
The blurb claimed it fitted all makes.
Commute to work survey16 Aug 2007 08:29 GMT2
I am conducting research related to people's attitudes towards their
commute
to work or school. I am writing to invite you to take a web-based
survey
Filler mixing paper ?15 Aug 2007 22:58 GMT4
What is the name of the paper\board that they use in bodyshops for mixing
fillers ?
it like a paper pad and makes the whole process less messy as you can rip a
page off at the end and chuck it.
Brake piston scoring15 Aug 2007 22:07 GMT5
How much is acceptable? None?
Are they a factors item or will I need to go back to a specialist brakes
supplier?
Ford Ka Rust15 Aug 2007 14:58 GMT28
My 9 year old Ford Ka has just passed it's MOT with one advisory:
"Bubble rust starting on both front floor pans front (sic)"
My gut instinct is to get under it with a wire brush, remove as much as I
can, and underseal over it. Would that hold it at bay at all or is it
Mondeo Mark 2 - Hissing Noise15 Aug 2007 11:27 GMT21
I have a mark 2 Mondeo, with about 125000 on the clock.
On accelleration it makes a "hissing" noise.
A local garage said "that is the timing belt slipping on the pulleys"
and wanted the best part of 400 quid to replace the timing belt, but
2003 Civic aircon oddness15 Aug 2007 11:08 GMT11
Went to try out the aircon on my 4-year-old Civic, and I've noticed that
turning on the A/C switch, the air doesn't get any cooler than with it
off. It certainly used to work a few months ago.
Should I get it recharged (how much is this typically costing these
Fiesta Encore 1.3 HT leads15 Aug 2007 07:34 GMT3
How tricky is it to change HT leads on said motor. They go around to back of
engine and noted comments in another Car KB thread about an Endura.
Kindest Regards
Pete
Fiesta coolant14 Aug 2007 11:53 GMT23
Just noticed that the coolant in my Fiesta is a bit low (an inch or
two below minimum but way above the outlet of the reservoir). I've got some
Halfords "Advanced protection" 5 year coolant knocking about, does anyone
know if that's compatible with the existing coolant? I'm a bit ...
Nissan Micra central locking boot problem14 Aug 2007 10:02 GMT3
Hello...
I have a 05 Micra with remote central locking. The tailgate seems to
have a life of its own. The unlocked door warning light can come on at
anytime, and the locking system on the tailgate will not be working.
