Toyota Wheel Trim Recall14 Aug 2007 09:09 GMT10
My Avensis was in for a recall today.  The recall related to the wheel trims
potentially moving and interfering with the valve and ultimately  damaging
the valve and causing the tyre to deflate.  According to the VOSA website
affected vehicles would have alloy wheels fitted; this ...

Oil Question13 Aug 2007 23:37 GMT10
Would any clever bods out there be able to tell me if Castrol GTX 10W-40 is
mineral or synthetic.
Also is it safe to use in a 1.4 8V Grande Punto (Petrol).
Fiat say only use their Selinia - but I suppose they would say that at £££'s
Almeria passenger seat.13 Aug 2007 23:35 GMT2
Two year old Nissan Almeria 1.5 . Noticed that the seat portion of the
front passenger seat has dropped at the back near the back rest. There
is a gap (if I put a newspaper on the seat it ends up on the floor in
the back.) also seat uncomfortable.
Manifold Facing13 Aug 2007 23:34 GMT29
Howdy all,
I'm looking to get my exhaust manifold re-surfaced - its warped some
1-1.5mm end to end (14 inches). I've called a few local engineering
places and they say "not worth us doing it, it takes too long to set
Interesting Brake Servo question13 Aug 2007 20:01 GMT11
Well I think its interesting. '90 BMW 535i. Brakes work just fine
unless backing the car down the path then all servo assist seems to
vanish (mildly scary on an automatic on a steep path). Checked the
fluid levels, all good. Brakes are rock solid (as you expect from a
Clio fuel conundrum13 Aug 2007 12:37 GMT8
My daughter has a Clio, 2003, today she came home and said that although
she'd just put £10 petrol in the tank and the fuel gauge was showing quarter
full, the low fuel warning light is lit, and on the 'computer' the 'miles to
go before fill up' figure is blank.
Flushing hydraulic lifters13 Aug 2007 12:32 GMT7
I have a 1.4 K-Series engine that I had to rebuild the top end on recently,
following a head-gasket failure. Ever since it was put back together it has
taken about 5-6 seconds to start. After finding no air leaks, and checking
everything else was in order, I tried turning the ...

Renault Megane washer pump13 Aug 2007 10:33 GMT1
I hope someone can shed some light on this - my front and rear screen
wash jets have stopped working - I have checked the fuse and this is
working fine but I am missing the electrical sound suggesting that the
pump has gone.
Outside Temp Gauge now showing Farenheit was Centigrade12 Aug 2007 21:18 GMT12
My Mondeo, 2002 reg 1.8LX has just had a new battery fitted. I have
recoded the radio etc but notice the outside temperature readout now
shows F rather than C. I need to know the C temp for my work.
The handbook does not tell you how to change it.
Minor window fault.12 Aug 2007 20:28 GMT2
'98 E39 Radio type ign key
When I press and hold button 1, all the windows open as they're supposed to.
However, holding button 2 doesn't close the windows as it should.
I'm not that fussed, but if it's a simple fix, I'll fix it.

Suddenly dropped water12 Aug 2007 11:25 GMT3
Parking my Rover 220 outside sainsburys I noticed a load of water dropping
out - there was a trail of water about 200yards long!
Got the car towed back home. But now cannot find out what caused it! I
refilled the system - left it running for ages - went on a 20mile round
