Corroded brake disks and MOT14 Oct 2007 13:04 GMT9
When my VW Passat was last serviced I was told that the front disks had
corroded. This is true and there has been some corrosion at the edges. I
have been reluctant to change the disks, as neither the disks or pads are
near their wear limits, even after 45,000 miles and 5 years.  ...

Focus 1600 petrol Zetec engine (2001) idle and performance issues12 Oct 2007 17:10 GMT16
A few months back the engine developed a fault where the idle was
rough/hunting rhythmically, and then the idle would either intermittantly
stick high after releasing the accellerator, or cut out, the latter
especially after a high speed run.
MoT duration?12 Oct 2007 00:41 GMT3
I recently saw some documentation for a car that I won't be buying, but
what struck me as odd were the MoT documents. Several of these were for
about a year and a few days. So if they started on 30th of September 2005,
they finished on the October the 7th 2006 - which struck me as a ...

gone again.  Now making a heavy whine on the overrun at low speed. This

Just bought myself a Maestro 1.3 "A" Series.  (Stop laughing at the back)
This has been fitted with the instruments from a Montego with the rev
counter and "high engine temperature warning light".
I drove this car home a distance of 140 miles.  Ran perfectly.  Well, as
Special grease(s)11 Oct 2007 09:22 GMT5
Peugeot (for 306 1.9 diesel) recommend a special grease for gear change
linkages - Esso Norva 275 grease.
Does anybody know what is 'special' about this grease and is there an
equivalent grease from another manufacturer?
Corsa windscreen tint?10 Oct 2007 16:30 GMT4
My wife's newish Corsa 1.3 TDi has a cracked windscreen (stone-caused,
apparently). The insurance chap asked whether it was a green or purple
tinted glass. ("We can only replace exact like with like.") Neither of
us can confidently say which - it's a *very* faint tint. So we've

Normal operating temperature seems to be 91 to 94 and it quickly went
to 99 if stuck in traffic. After putting a new radiator on there seems
Unfaithful wife?09 Oct 2007 22:52 GMT8
Remember, the shower is a very dangerous place where accidents often
happen. So, with that in mind, your unfaithful wife may just happen to
'slip' in there and suffer a fatal head injury...
The stairs too are a dangerous place. So make sure no objects are left
