Mayo on oil cap21 Nov 2007 00:31 GMT8
Went to look at a car the other day, as the garage/dealer have had it over 2
months
and I guessed it'd been mostly driven short trips (test drives & between the
forecourt and the lockup at the back of their building) I'd have expected to
Escrot van20 Nov 2007 16:29 GMT26
Any potential problems (other than rust, im handy with a welder!) that i
need to look at when looking for a MOT/Taxless £100 bargain? Need a
throw-away runaround for 12 months.
Ancient Toyota Starlet20 Nov 2007 10:47 GMT12
My daughter, who very recently passed her test, is now the fairly proud
owner of a 1989 1.0l Starlet.
It's accelerates like a slug, which I half expected because of its age, but
it does proudly proclaim that it has 12 valves and I hoped it might be a
N reg Escort 1.6 All revs and no torque19 Nov 2007 22:33 GMT1
I'm no mechanic so that is why I've come to you guys. My Escort is now hard
to drive. It has absolutely no grunt at all. Its done 84000 miles but I
actually think it may have done 184000 just a gut feeling but could be
wrong. Anyway in first, there is no decent acceleration and ...
'94 Golf headlight lamp19 Nov 2007 19:16 GMT7
I was going to replace my '94 Golf 1.8 CL (petrol) headlight lamp today,
having picked up a replacement for a shade under 8 quid yesterday. Unlike
the Mk IV its supposed to be straightforward with no need for bumper
removal.
Breathing Exhaust Emissions19 Nov 2007 13:53 GMT10
I often cycle instead of driving, and always worry about breathing in fumes
from cars as I'm cycling at the side of the road. I mean, I'm literally
behind every car that goes past, and they're all pushing out hefty amount of
fumes...
Odd Tyre Size19 Nov 2007 00:38 GMT10
I'm looking for new tyres for my Daihatsu van. The tyres show 155 R 12
Why is there only 2 numbers on the tyre?
Two numbers won't work with the online sellers which ask for width, profile
and tyre size.

Wife is planning on changing her car soon.
S reg Tigra 1.6. Up till now with FVSH. - is it worth paying for a
last dealer service? - 100K, or is that just £120 ( diffence between
them and me doing it ) wasted on a car this age / mileage.
Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 diesel LS, drivers door lock has jammed shut18 Nov 2007 17:19 GMT1
My T Reg 1999, Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 diesel LS, drivers door lock has
jammed shut and will not open. I've managed to remove the door card
enough to get my hand in to feel the levers etc, they seem to be free.
However the door appears to be dead locked. Does anyone know how I can
Vuaxhall Astra 1.7DTI.   W reg  - Drags slowly on take off18 Nov 2007 11:32 GMT6
Please Any ideas: my Vauxhall Astra 1.7 DTI W reg drags slowly on take off
for about 10-15m, even as the gas pedal hits the floor.
It picks up from the 2nd and then races on when its on a flat road and the
motorway.
Focus C-max18 Nov 2007 10:31 GMT2
Can anyone explain why  (apparently) the C-max gets much more of a
slagging off in the Reliability Indexes / Customer feedback than the
Focus
I've gone through all the drivers feedback on Whatcar.com and the C-max
L reg Fiesta won't start until fuel supply is cut...18 Nov 2007 10:03 GMT3
My wife's L-reg 1.1 HCS Fiesta is experiencing a re-occurence of an
intermittent problem which has not happened for about 2 years (which
is also about the same amount of time since I last serviced it).
I think that what is happening is that when I change the air filter,
Check whether your vehicle is on the insurance database17 Nov 2007 21:45 GMT8
Just in case your broker hasn't put your vehicle on the DB you can check
here:

Could also be useful for checking if that car that hit you is insured and
N Reg Ford Escort, all revs and no torque17 Nov 2007 19:52 GMT2

Recently bought an 04 mondeo TDCi which has a sony 6cd changer radio fitted
