Tracing oil leaks25 Feb 2008 09:08 GMT5
The thermostat on my 1994 Rover 220 developed an intermittent fault in the
summer, resulting in a couple of overheats. Since then it has started
loosing some oil, which it had never done before. Seems to be only when it's
running - after parking the car I find oil drips going ...
Bumper repair advice25 Feb 2008 02:33 GMT7
I'm thinking of buying a Ford Focus (1.6LX, 2002).  However the (plastic?)
front bumper is damaged at the top nearside corner.  The bumper has  been
pulled away from the body and sticks out about 1cm, and there is a 1cm long
split nearby, along the top edge.  I tried pushing the ...
Automatic gearbox24 Feb 2008 19:16 GMT7
My daughter has an old Espace with an automatic gearbox. She was
driving along when it just stopped going forward, no big bangs or crunches.
Could this be anything simple, as the cost of a new gearbox is out of the
question.
97 Escort Fan Switch Wiring24 Feb 2008 15:33 GMT2
Anyone know where the white/black strip & the brown wire goes from the fan
switch? The haynes BOL shows that the fan switch connects to the fan
directly & the other side is a feed, this isn't the case. I suspect that at
least one wire connects to the ECU.
Switch Tyres24 Feb 2008 00:53 GMT33
I've got a mobile fitter coming round tomorrow. They're supplying/fitting
one new Conti Super Contact 2 and changing the unused Conti on the spare
wheel (steel wheel) onto one of the alloys.
The worn tyres are on the front. Is it worth me swapping the rears to the
Mondeo problem23 Feb 2008 19:52 GMT6
Started driving up to Cleveland last night (for a mate's wedding
today) in my 98 Mondeo 2.5 Ghia X automatic.
On the A1, been in a bit of slow traffic, had just turned the cruise
control back on to take me up to cruise speed and it tripped out at

Clutch fault?23 Feb 2008 16:40 GMT25
I had the clutch replaced last October @ 95k miles on my Rover 600 Ti. At
the time they advised that the car would also benefit from "clutch slave &
master cylinder". Lately I've noticed that after alot of clutch use (for
example after half an hour of shunting along in slow ...
C5 Front Brake problem23 Feb 2008 14:57 GMT5
Front Pad warning light came on yesterday so bought a new set of pads
today. Nearside was a breeze changed in 30 minutes, including cleaning &
copper greasing. Offside was a twat, piston just wouldn't go back at
until that is I realised it's anti-clockwise Doh! Anyway once ...
Buying from FORD DIRECT - any good?23 Feb 2008 12:16 GMT2
I'm thinking of getting a Focus that's a few years old.  Is it worth
buying it from the Ford Direct scheme?
I'm thinking that the car would be carefully checked over and any
problems would have been put right.  Also, if things go wrong after I

Is there a web site out there where you can search for a car and it tells
you the MPG?
Cheers

Escort fuel filter22 Feb 2008 22:59 GMT5
Just replaced the fuel filter on a 1.8 Diesel escort (no turbo)
Now finding it hard to start (takes 3 attempts to start) before it splutters
into life. Glow plugs replaced just before Christmas.
Also seems a little hesitant when driving.
VW Passat Electric Windows22 Feb 2008 20:25 GMT8
1999 Volkwagen Passat 110TDI.
The NSF electric window stopped working when I tried to wind it down
when there was ice on it.  (Yes, I know, silly boy)
I've had the door to bits this morning and I can see that the cable
