Astra diesel - how do you open the air box?!17 Feb 2008 22:41 GMT4
It should be easy, but I can't see how to open the box to remove the air
filter! All my previous cars have had simple clips or a couple of bolts, but
this has got me stumped.  I'm guessing you have to detach the two hoses and
then it can be slid apart?

'spensive PD oil in plain old 90 hp TDI Golf17 Feb 2008 17:18 GMT3
Howdy.  :)
I think the guy who serviced my 90 HP Golf TDI put in the wrong oil. I
think he may have put in the PD expensive stuff. Is that a problem or is
it only the other way round that would be a worry?
Place your bets - how many bent valves?17 Feb 2008 14:41 GMT9
Out in the Octavia (1.8i, 20v) this PM. Doing 80-90 on the motorway

Pulled off after 15 miles, heard a slight squealing noise, and sudden
loss of power for a second.

Golf TDI poor performance15 Feb 2008 20:52 GMT12
My new (to me) Golf TDI 90 bhp, that I was initially led to believe was
100 bhp, but isn't, seems to be pretty flat performance wise.
I'm not a boy-racer, and mostly drive in an economical manner, but does
the flollowing sound wrong to you?

Hi- i am just about to replace my sump on LT35 2.4D 1995- just been
told that it is not possible without raising the engine or

have made it easier than that!
Grease on Wheel Nuts?15 Feb 2008 18:17 GMT23
During the last 50 years or so, I've always greased wheel amd other
nuts, before replacing them.  I was rather surprised to see in my Toyota
Ower's Manual that they cautioned against greasing, as this could lead
to over-tightening or cause the nuts to work loose.  They recommend ...

the fuel burn more efficiently therefore save fuel( quoted15%)/more
