Have currently got Y-reg (2001) Ford Fiesta Ghia, 1.6l 16v, on 65,000 miles, have just comprehensively scratched the driver's door due to an unfortunate incident involving gale force winds, fence panels and paving slabs. Looking for something a bit newer...

| Low Mileage C3 service | 06 Feb 2008 14:06 GMT | 12 |
My mother in law has a March 2004 Citroen C3 1.4 automatic with 2 year service intervals. She has driven only 4,400 miles in this car since new and it's coming up for it's second service and second MOT. The first service in March 2006 at 1,900 miles was just an oil change,

| Re-Paint.....where has it gone to?? | 05 Feb 2008 20:25 GMT | 4 |
Anyone remember Parsons Re-Paint? A brushable paint for cars which gave a very high gloss finish and if done right, was almost indistinguishable from a spray job. I used it a lot during the 80's and early 90's on many cars but it now seems

| Fiat Punto 55 Starting problems | 05 Feb 2008 14:35 GMT | 2 |
My father-in-law has an intermittent problem with his Punto (1996 N reg). It all seems to be tied in with the immobiliser and key fobs. When initially starting, the fob is recognised and the code light goes out

| Toyota Avensis. Differences between Generations? | 05 Feb 2008 13:01 GMT | 4 |
I have an 05 reg T2 Avensis, 1.8 petrol, 5 dr hatch, which was probably made in 2004. I understand that there were some changes introduced in 2003. I'm not sure whether this was just a facelift, or a major redesign. Which? and Parkers Price Guide have their information in two

| Renault Clio brake disc screws | 05 Feb 2008 11:05 GMT | 5 |
Hi guys, is it possible to re-tap and replace screws that hold the brake disc on to wheel hub? My wife's car has started to shudder when braking and I took the front wheels off to look. Both discs seem OK (I haven't checked with a dial gauge....don't have one, but they look OK) ...

| Can a screwed alternator burn a battery? | 04 Feb 2008 20:36 GMT | 23 |
I described in an earlier post how my battery caught fire - I had been charging it in the car and assumed a spark ignited the gas given off whilst charging. However I just fitted a new battery, and after starting the car there was

| Cheap windscreen replacement | 03 Feb 2008 20:18 GMT | 12 |
I'm going to need a new windscreen for my Audi 100 for the next MOT - it has a vertical crack on the passenger side that is just over 40mm long - it passed the last MOT with an advisory but that's only because I've been going to the bloke for years.

| Make-a-gasket | 03 Feb 2008 18:15 GMT | 4 |
I need to make a gasket to seal between two pieces of exhaust which have flanges that bolt together. The factory gasket is four sheets of thin metal stuck together. I'd thought of using beer cans or similar, but is there a better material I

| The Way to Paradise | 03 Feb 2008 16:53 GMT | 1 |
We are all in quest of true happiness. In this world, the idea of true/perfect happiness is not feasible because this world is inevitably doomed to total annihilation. True happiness is found only in dwelling upon Paradise, and enjoying its blessings. However, none

| Which small car? | 02 Feb 2008 16:39 GMT | 10 |
Recently, I had to hire a car and was served up with a 07 Fiat Punto. Not a bad car as such, far better than the Fiesta I owned in the early 1980s. I was impressed with the silken smooth engine; you could drive 70mph without much engine noise. However... It still feels like a small
