| Shell bearing supplier? | 28 Mar 2008 09:04 GMT | 5 |
A friend has a 2.0 litre Ford Galaxy with a noisy engine. With the engine removed and stripped down it can be seen that one crankshaft bearing has moved, damaging the crankshaft - which needs to be re-ground.

My step daughter has just popped in all upset after the second tyre has gone flat on her P reg Rover 216SLi down to leaking rims. The last time it happened Quick Fit dismounted the tyre and cleaned the rim up for her (and that one is still fine) but today another

| Car overheated, but oil/coolant levels OK | 27 Mar 2008 20:36 GMT | 17 |
I was driving home last night in my N-reg, 120,000-mile 2.0-litre Renault Laguna (which I've owned trouble-free for years), when the temperature warning light suddenly came on out of the blue. The car was empty, travelling on a flat motorway at about 70 mph.

| Full size spare tyre - 50mph limit? | 27 Mar 2008 16:24 GMT | 5 |
Our Mk2 Focus has alloy wheels (as standard) with (I think) 205/55 R16 tyres. The car (as standard) comes with a space saver tyre, however the original purchaser opted for the normal sized (steel-wheel) spare which has the same size tyre as on other wheels. I thought it was ...

| Sudden cheesy stink in car | 27 Mar 2008 14:03 GMT | 7 |
I got out of my Mondeo to photograph the floods. Reentered and noticed a stink. Thinking I'd walked in something examined shoes they were clean, removed overlay carpets just to be sure, but the stink is worse every day.

| Rusty Saab Tailgate - Advice? | 27 Mar 2008 10:37 GMT | 8 |
I am after some advice of what to do about some rust that is appearing on the tailgate of my Mother's 2002 Saab 9-5 Estate. It looks like the plastic trim next to the rear light has rubbed its way through the paint and the rust has set in:

| 1994 camry overheating | 27 Mar 2008 09:25 GMT | 1 |
I have a 1994 toyota camry 4cyl...it has been overheating, but the needle would move up and down rather quickly while the car was moving, depending on how fast I was going (faster I went--the cooler it was). So I called a local mechanic to ask why and he said it might be the ...

| A tip worth knowing? | 26 Mar 2008 23:01 GMT | 8 |
I've not seen this one before. A workmate recently crossthreaded a sparking type plug on his Vulva 340 which has an alloy head. He phoned up his local helpful garage who told him to try grinding four channels down an old sparkplug to turn it into a tap. Plenty of grease to

| Exhaust fitting | 25 Mar 2008 23:13 GMT | 5 |
I've got a new (to me) stainless exhaust to put on the Mondeo. I'm sure it needs some sort of gasket between the back of the cat and the exhaust - it's a 2 hole diamond shaped flange. The question is, what sort of gasket? I'm guessing from the size and

| Stag fuel pump | 25 Mar 2008 20:48 GMT | 6 |
I've just managed to start my Triumph Stag after I've left it 5 months to stand. I took off the fuel pipe to the filter and nothing came out with ignition on. The electrical fuel pump in the boot needed hitting quite hard for it to work! I've known starters to need hitting but has

I have a 1984 trafic with the 2068CC diesel engine and 3 questions :) - Where is the temperature sensor located (the one that is connected to the temp gauge on the dash) While I was driving the other day, all of a sudden the gauge stopped working (dropped). Later when I looked

| Will a space saver wheel pass the MOT? | 25 Mar 2008 13:48 GMT | 24 |
I have a tire that is marginal to pass the MOT, and the spare is a space saver, the same diameter as the others but thinner. Can I put this on to get it through the MOT? I shall get a new one if it passes, but would rather not spent the money if it is going to fail
