Stag brakes problem27 May 2008 09:26 GMT3
Yesterday I was driving the Stag and after about 20 miles there was a
smell after using the brakes at junctions and roundabouts.Towards the
end of the journey there was a gradual decline in the braking
performance and I needed to push the brake pedal much further down
Toyota Yaris camchain tensioner27 May 2008 09:22 GMT7
My missus has recently got an 06 Yaris with the 1.3 vvt engine, 19,000
miles. The engine has a noisy rattle from the drive end when cold. I'm
sure its the camchain tensioner which is oil operated. The rattle goes
away when the engine is fully up to temp and when the revs are ...
Audi A2 Alarm.25 May 2008 20:39 GMT2
We have a 2001 Audi A2 in the stable which has recently been irritating
everyone by having its alarm go off sporadically.
The alarm that sounds is a soft beeper accompanied by the hazards which
indicates that the ultrasonics have detected something.

Corsa B Lock Set24 May 2008 17:37 GMT1
I called into my local UK Vaxhall dealer for a lock set for my 1997 Corsa
(i.e B model). I didnt need the keys matching, just a new set.
However I got told this was a special order item, and would be £150+.
Anyone suggest a more economic source for a new lockset in the UK?
ECM code P-040124 May 2008 14:09 GMT1
My UK 2004 Focus TDCi is reporting error code $10 ECM P-0401 "exhaust gas
recirculation flow insufficient".  It drives perfectly with no problem
apparent, good fuel economy (50 mpg) and no black smoke.  The engine
management warning light came on about six months ago.  I had the ...
Tyre speed query24 May 2008 12:26 GMT13
Thought gurus on here might know - I was checking tyre pressures on my
wife's car the other day when I noticed that new tyres she'd had fitted
when it was serviced a few months ago are V rated not W, which seems to
be the original spec. But they are an XL load spec - more than ...
Peugeot 406 diesel in economy mode - won't start24 May 2008 08:06 GMT3
First time on here.
I have a 2002 406 HDI, that went to the local mechanic for a minor
problem (engine cover came loose & broke bleed nipple on thermostat
cover = no coolant).  After fixing it, bleeding the system & running
Wheel wobble wonder24 May 2008 08:01 GMT22
I sometimes see cars on the motorway where one of the wheels have a terrible
wobble. I wonder if the driver is even aware of the problem, but what can I do?
The other day I spotted an old Jeep Cherokee on M25 with an interesting classic
'Airstream" caravan on tow. I bit further up, ...
Catalytic converter - scrap value?23 May 2008 23:10 GMT5
In the past I have taken my old catalytic converters and car batteries
to the local council dump / recycling centre. Given the current high
price of platinum and lead, do these junk items have any scrap value
and are scrap dealers interested in buying in small quantities? There
Nissan Micra gear problem23 May 2008 22:51 GMT2
Hi there. The problem I'm having is that when I'm driving along in 4th
or 5th gear, occassionally I will start to lose speed and can't seem
to be able to accelerate or hold a certain speed, no matter how much I
press down on the accelerator. Since my car is slowing down no matter
Smoking Exhaust Problem23 May 2008 22:40 GMT3
I've got a 95 1.8 astra sport with the eco tec engine. Having only recently
bought the car i can only go on what i've been told about its past. The car
had recently undergone some engine work as the belt snapped and did the
valves. Everything was replaced with genuine GM parts ...
Zafira Alarm nuisance23 May 2008 13:17 GMT5
My colleague at work has a Vauxhall Zafira with a factory fitted alarm. The
alarm goes off at random whilst parked at work or home for no apparent
reason. There is a facility for disabling the internal movement sensors but
this does not stop it.
