Lexus GS300 problem13 May 2008 23:00 GMT9
I bought this car by mistake - didn't really like it in use - bit of a
barge, so now I'm looking to get rid of it in my usual manner by letting it
rot on my drive....
Anyway, it's actually a very nice car, clean, but before I try and offload
What does this dashboard light mean on my petrol Clio?13 May 2008 08:48 GMT5
I've posted this one before but since then, I have a bit more info.
There's a strange light that appears on the instrument panel when I
turn the ignition key.  It goes out after a few seconds.  There's a
slight humming noise from under the bonnet at the same time.
Peugeot 306 1998 TD Auxillary Belt Tensioner13 May 2008 07:56 GMT1
Hi, Recently had the cambelt changed on my 306 TD 1998 (air con
version) and mechanic noticed that I needed a new tension for the
auxillary belt as it is off alignment. I didn`t have the part at the
time (doh!) so don`t want to fork out for labour again (don`t like

increase in gas mileage.

Key/ignition/electronics problem12 May 2008 10:07 GMT3
I've just bought myself a 1999 Vauxhall Tigra, 1.4 Chequers version. I
seem to be having problems with the key/ignition/electronics, and would
appreciate some advice.
When I unlock the door (no problem), get in the car and put the key in
Van tyres11 May 2008 20:49 GMT5
Do all the quick fit type places do van tyres? I need 8 ply tyres on mine
(2150lbs), but don't see any mention of them on the tyre websites.

I've been told by a mechanic friend that a new radiator fan with motor for a
2.0 ltr rover 75 CDT will cost around £350 plus fitting

Ka suspension bushes10 May 2008 09:35 GMT8
Ka.... Last year had an MOT advisory that the front upper shock
absorbers (both sides) have slightly worn bushes. When I grab the top of
the strut inside the engine bay I can't make either of them move and the
topmost bush looks fine. Is this anything to worry about? Got next MoT
Picasso 2.0HDI engine mount09 May 2008 23:01 GMT3
Anyone know how much work is involved, & what costs I'm looking at for
replacement. Wife's just had the AA tow her to a citroen garage because the
engine was vibrating badly, AA man diagnosed the engine mount. I assume it's
the lower mount, as this is very common on picasso's. ...
VW Touran Climate Control problem.09 May 2008 20:35 GMT5
I have an 05 plate Touran (2.0 Tdi Sport).  I have noticed,
particularly on long journeys, there appears to be less and less air
over time coming out of the vents.
It gets to a point where I have switched it out of "Auto" mode and set

Mazda 323F aircon problem08 May 2008 23:24 GMT6
First hot day of the year and surprise surprise, the aircon doesn't
work.  Anybody here worked on one of these?  It's a 98 S plate with
the 1.8 engine.
I've traced it as far as the compressor solenoid / clutch / whatever
94 Cavalier seat belt08 May 2008 20:17 GMT3
The seat belt is not going in properly and has a habit of comming undone.
Obviously it needs the replacing. The seat belt stalk has some pre-tensioner
affair associated with it. My Haynes manual says that only vauxhall
mechanics can touch this device without facing certain death. ...
Clutch, fluid or master cylinder?08 May 2008 17:01 GMT7
The clutch on our Multipla gets very crunchy after prolonged use and gets to
the point where driving becomes a real pain in the arse.
The clutch itself is approx 1yr old and the slave cylinder was changed just
prior so I wonder if the master cylinder needs changing.
Astra a/c problem08 May 2008 15:15 GMT5
I have a year 2000 Astra 1.6 16v Club, just over 81,000 miles on the clock.
Noticed tonight that my a/c wasn't working, i.e. the airflow through the
vents didn't get cool. It was the first time I'd used the a/c for a few
weeks.   Checking things back at home, I noticed that when I ...
