Edinburgh? The SO's Micra needs its throttle body replacing and Arnold Clark
want £680 for the part + fitting. I'll try & get hold of a s/h or refurb unit

Just orderd 4 Firestone tyres for my campervan to be fitted tomorrow. I
wanted branded tyres and these were the cheapest at £90 each. Next up were
Goodyear at £115 each. These are 205/14 8ply van tyres.
Any opinions on Firestone tyres welcome? Certainly prefer them to the next
ABS & Flat tyre15 Jul 2008 18:38 GMT8
I've been trying to figure out what would be the effect on braking if a car
with ABS had to do take emergency evasive action and in doing so completely
deflated the front tyre (i.e. it became free to rotate on the rim)
What would be the effect on steering when an emergency brake ...
Fiat Punto front brake discs15 Jul 2008 09:33 GMT5
Getting a weird noise coming from the front of the car (53 plate Punto 1.2
8v).  When I brake the noise stops. Going to change the discs and pads,
generally for peace of mind.  Previous car (Golf) had a screw which held the
disc to the hub.  Punto has no screw as such but has two ...
Golf TDI 90 HP correct oil?13 Jul 2008 15:58 GMT4
My Golf Mk 4 TDI 2002 has started nagging for a service, so I duly went
along to my VW dealer and bought the filters, oil etc.
I'm a bit worried though because there was a lot of head scratching about
which oil to use (this is the first service since I've had the car).
electric cars coming along13 Jul 2008 12:55 GMT34
There are now powerful electric cars with Lithium batteries, such
cars will feel no different form ordinary fuel powered cars. However,
the main  problem with electric cars is the long term performance of
the battery, maybe only 3-5 years, that is a major and costly component

Convert Your Car/Truck to BURN WATER as well as Gasoline and DOUBLE YOUR GAS MILEAGE!!!12 Jul 2008 13:00 GMT1
Do you want to know RIGHT NOW how YOU can drive around using WATER AS FUEL
and LAUGH at RISING GAS COSTS
while at the same time REDUCE emissions and help PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING?
While 100% "water cars" and "water trucks" are still on the drawing board,

Why is it, rather than giving an appropriate answer, a lot of people on this
group resort to abuse and proposed humiliation. Grow up guys. Yours in love

Quality Tyres11 Jul 2008 16:42 GMT30
I got 4 new Continental EcoContact3 Tyres on my 1.25 Zetec Fiesta on
Friday (167/70R13T) after always buying cheap nasty tyres before that.
You probably all know this anyway but I just wanted to say how much
better the car now drives.  It's SO much more precise round corners and
