Peugeot Power Steering Issue31 Oct 2008 21:04 GMT1
The power steering on my old faithful Peugeot 405 has decided that it would
like to work when steering to the right intermittently. Steering to the left
there's no problem so I guess it's not the pump.
Searching on the internet seems to point at the valves in the steering
Tyre recommendations...?30 Oct 2008 21:18 GMT11
It's that time of year again where I notice that (a) my tyres are just
about down to the markers and (b) the roads are more wet than dry.
So.. I need new tyres. Any recommendations for a mid-priced 195/65x15VR
tyre that's good in the wet? For about £50ish a corner?

I have a '96 Renault Megan. My engine is turning over but the car
won't start. Recently replaced leads, distributor cap and rotor arm
and problem went away for a bit. Sprayed with 'damp start'. Started it
yesterday, then flicked wiper switch (turns out they were frozen to

I have a lawnmower that runs on 4-star LRP. There is now only one
filling station in this area that supplies it, at 168p a liter the other
day!
I'm told that I can use unleaded with a shot of Redex without doing too

Peugeot 205 Heater not working29 Oct 2008 05:58 GMT3
A friend has an H-reg Peugeot 205 1.8 (I think) Diesel.
The heater only blows cold air. It has had a new radiator recently
following a front end collision.
I suggested that the problem might be an airlock in the coolant, so we
Matiz expansion bottle overflowing28 Oct 2008 19:44 GMT2
Thought I posted this yesterday but no sign of the post so will try
again. My elderly mother's Matiz has a problem that would seem to be
either head gasket or an airlock somewhere. On checking the oil the
expansion bottle had brown stains around it, and was low on coolant. I
Loss of coolant - Matiz28 Oct 2008 01:49 GMT1
Checked the oil of my elderly mothers Matiz the other day and noticed
brown stains around the expansion bottle and that the fluid was low.
Topped it up, drove for a few miles, got back to check and noticed on
revving the engine the water rose up the bottle and was overflowing.

area within easy reach!
Loose air duct on Fiesta 1.3 endura - what parts should I buy?27 Oct 2008 21:18 GMT1
My 1998 Fiesta (1.3 Endura petrol engine) has been producing more engine
noise than usual at some engine speeds. I've had a look under the bonnet,
and there seems to be an air duct (I think) that runs from the air filter
enclosure to a smaller kind of filter assembly directly above ...
Bleeding the cooling system on a 1.25Zetc27 Oct 2008 16:34 GMT1
All in the title really.  I've just replaced the top hose and all
_seems_ OK but I can't help wondering if there is something I should do
to make sure all the air is out of the cooling system.
The heater works, and the radiator fan kicks in at the appropriate time
Power brake increasing boost27 Oct 2008 02:06 GMT30
Hi all! we have a 1996 low milage Daewoo Espero in really good shape
as a second vehicle. The brakes have good shoes and disk pads, disks
and drums in good condition, no leaks, no frozen wheel cylinders.
Compared to other vehicles more pedal pressure is needed to get a
Toyota Yaris clock setting26 Oct 2008 14:00 GMT1
Went to adjust the clock on my wife's Mk2 Yaris this morning but without
much success.
The display unit has a digital clock on top and a multifunction display
below and one button referred to in the handbook as the "DISP" button.
