Over the course of the last two weeks, a squeeking/squealing has developed

Coil spring replacement31 Jul 2009 15:27 GMT19
I have a rear driver side coil spring broken at the bottom and in need of
replacement.
Are these changed as a pair or can I get away with just doing the broken
one. The other one as far as I can see looks ok.
Rover 220 Rear Suspension31 Jul 2009 09:03 GMT1
I have a knocking noise from the rear of my Rover 220. Sounds like the
suspensions dropped and the exhaust is catching on the underside of
the car.
Think its the shocks, springs or suspension bush.

of a new relay for the rear wiper on a 97 VW Golf Estate please, how
do you gain access to the relay out of interest too please.

Focus Alignment Woes30 Jul 2009 09:33 GMT3
Back in January I bought an '03 Focus TDCI with 53K on the clock. Since
then I've had to get the wheel alignment done six times. The car's
predecessor, an '02 Mondeo TDCI, behaved inmpeccably (until the wall
hit it). I'm not a boy racer. Each time it's fixed, within days I feel
Focus Central Locking Probs ...29 Jul 2009 18:25 GMT13
1.8 Focus Estate on an X plate. 98k miles.
If I try to lock it with the magic key, sounds like all doors lock, then a
half second later, they all unlock again. Same if I try to lock it manually
from outside on the driver's door. Same if I try to lock it from inside

Headlight adjusters for driving in Europe - new Mondeo28 Jul 2009 13:24 GMT3
I've got a new model Mondeo (2008), does anyone know if the headlights need
adjusting (or a stick-on beam bender is needed) for driving in Europe?
The manual says nothing about this and I've googled but got all sorts of
conflicting info.
MK4 golf rear brake pads change27 Jul 2009 20:31 GMT1
I bought some ATE pads and discs today from euro car parts (well ordered
online should be here tommorow) a lot cheaper than at GSF for similiar
stuff.
Anyway I managed to change the fornt discs and pads not problem and was
saving petrol:  motorway or lesser roads27 Jul 2009 15:41 GMT10

and will take 58 mins.
changing oil27 Jul 2009 13:36 GMT21
Have now decided to stop changing the engine oil myself (toyota corolla) and
will pay for a garage to do it.
I'm guessing that it's cheapest to let one of the big chains like quickfit
do it, but do any of them take the trouble to warm the engine through to let
Spark Plugs. clash of the bibles27 Jul 2009 11:47 GMT4
In the owners manual for my June 1994 corolla 1.3 gli with the 4E-FE engine
it says that the spark plugs should be NGK BKR'5'EYA and the plug gap 0.8mm.
My local suppliers in his big book of plugs bible it says it should be a NGK
BKR'6'EYA.  He says my owners manual is 15 years ...
Polo taking a few turns to start?26 Jul 2009 21:09 GMT15
My mum's Polo (95, 1.4 AEX, 100ish k) takes a few turns of the starter to
kick up. Nothing excessive, but more than you'd expect, and once it's
running, it runs fine. It's had a full service recently, so the plugs are
new, the oil filter is genuine VW etc. and the oil is of the ...

My daughter has a 2001 polo. The hazard / indicator unit keeps ticking even
when not in use. I suspect its the switch and have ordered one but it is
located in the middle of the dashboard between two air vents. I have had the
radio out and can touch the switch but cant remove it. ...
high mileage cars25 Jul 2009 08:50 GMT12
I are thinking of getting a run around car that must be reliabel and there
are many out there with 100+k mileages.
I know that engines are almost bullit proof nowadays but surely there could
be extra costs in running a high mileage car as things like the suspenshon
