Parking sensors23 Jul 2009 10:31 GMT99
I need to fit parking sensors on a honda accord.
I'm going to buy a set that includes forward as well as reversing.
Anyone tried the cheapo varieties on ebay?
How do they stack up against the expensive models from halfords?
Renault Megane immobiliser22 Jul 2009 21:54 GMT9
Renault Megane 2.0 8v 1998.  Did a service and also took the battery out to
clean out all the crud that had collected there.  Got a bit dark so I left
the battery off till next morning but now car won't start and the key fob
won't operate the central locking and the immobiliser ...
Removing front bumper22 Jul 2009 20:30 GMT7
I need to replace a cracked headlight on a Mazda 626 (year 2000) which
appears to involve removing the front bumper.  I assume this will be
straight forward enough, but I am concerned about damaging
connectivity to airbags.  Please would someone advise whether this
Ford Connect van oil pressure??22 Jul 2009 19:06 GMT5
When starting from cold the oil pressure light takes a few seconds (more
than it should?) to go out. Until it does go out (indicating that the oil
pressure is OK) the engine sounds like a bag of nails. The engine will then
be OK all day long until the following morning.
Quicksteel et al22 Jul 2009 13:39 GMT4
Anyone have a recommendation for a metal repair paste that is properly
petrol resistant? It's to repair a couple of float pin posts in a Mikuni
carb. float chamber so it will be immersed in petrol all the time.
Oh, and also... what's the name of that black goo that can be used to ...
Noise when turning21 Jul 2009 20:44 GMT3
MK4 golf 1.6 SE T reg Auto 65k
Bit of a odd problem to describe. When steering left or right there is a
noise not a grinding as such but a gentle whine which changes in tone
the more I turn or change steering direction. After driving for 10 mins
The Effectiveness of Sensors On Vehicles.21 Jul 2009 13:51 GMT17
I worked in a factory where a system of small automatic trucks navigated
themselves around the place, picking up stuff from the stores and
delivering it where required.
The staff were sceptical, but the obvious safety worries were dismissed
Cheap tools heads up21 Jul 2009 11:43 GMT61
Wickes are clearing out their car related gear by the looks of their
website, and they have battery chargers, jacks and axle stands beign kicked
out for a few quid a piece.
Lol, want a fuckwitted valuation on a car?20 Jul 2009 20:12 GMT17
webuyanycar.com - sure you;ve seen the ads.
To get the valuation, enter any old random sh.t into the contact box, as
long as it seems good ie crap@ao.com for email address, 999 for phone
number.
Peugeot Boxer van.20 Jul 2009 18:25 GMT3
Anyone know if a brand new Peugeot Boxer van has headlights which adjust
for driving on the right? The handbook says nothing on the subject.   A
mate has just bought a camper van and is off abroad with it. There appears
to be a large wing nut you can feel but not see on top above ...
Sierra tyre wear/handling18 Jul 2009 12:29 GMT4
Getting uneven front tyre wear (offside inner of tyre) and handling
not as good as 3000 miles ago. Nothing serious and not pulling but
have to concentrate more to keep it in centre of motorway lane. Will
wander in lane if relax for a moment.
Clio Clutch17 Jul 2009 16:22 GMT5
A friend has just bought an '02 Clio which has a quite heavy clutch with
a high pedal. Is that normal? Is there any way to lower and/or soften the
pedal? She has a long term back problem and finds it painful to use.
And don't ask me why she bought the car when it hurts to drive it ...
Where to get a rear axle differntial - for a fancy demo!17 Jul 2009 09:00 GMT4
Yes chaps - as a "fun" job I'd like to make up a demo-differential
just to show how they work. Plenty of stuff on the web but I'd like to
make a real one. Basically, get a diff, take the cover plate(s) off
clean it all up, strip it down, paint the bits nice colours and

Astra aircon15 Jul 2009 16:45 GMT4
I've had repeated trouble with the A/C on my year 2000 Astra 1.6 Club.  This
isn't a request for help, more to see if anyone else has had the same
experience.
I bought the car in early 2002.  I rarely used the A/C; only during hot
