Mazda 323  hatch back, gas struts30 Sep 2009 09:57 GMT2
The car is a Mazda 323 hatch back, year 2001.  The problem is the gas
struts of the hatch lid are weak.
Can anyone tell me please if the gas struts are meant to be separate
from the bracket that holds them on the bodywork or if the bracket is a

Reboot Mondeo ECU ?27 Sep 2009 16:48 GMT10
As I've still got this strange fault http://tinyurl.com/yaokwgp I'm
thinking of disconnecting battery and letting ECU power down
completely and reboot. Its not the Throttle position sensor causing
this as replaced that.

Focus 1.8 Zetec revving/idling problem26 Sep 2009 10:23 GMT9
I recently bought a 1999 Focus 1.8 Zetec.   It has a problem that at first I
took to be the Idle Speed Control Valve, but now I'm not sure at all.
When you take your foot off the accelerator at speed, the engine takes a
long time to lose revs, so there is no immediate engine ...
BMW using oil.24 Sep 2009 22:45 GMT20
My brother has a 91 330T with the M54 3 litre engine, and it uses a lot
of oil. He changed the oil last week and after only 200 miles the low oil
warning light came on. Took over a litre to bring it back to full. Most of
those 200 miles were spent towing a caravan.
BMW 325 revs on startup24 Sep 2009 19:51 GMT3
My BMW 325 will rev up to 2,000 revs (on a cool day, 1,500 revs on a warmer
day) when it is started and drop down to normal tickover straight away.
My thoughts are a temperature sensor telling the ECU that it is a colder day
than it really is so give it more petrol and then the ...

My GF has recently bought a 2006 Astra and her father has a 2008

Celica radiator explosion :(24 Sep 2009 08:23 GMT12
My Celica (1991) rad gave way over the weekend. The engine was hot and
then all of a sudden, steam everywhere.
The radiator had blown a section of the plastic top tank out. I've
ordered a new rad and fan temp switch (as it does not seem to switch -
Mondeo Timing Belt23 Sep 2009 19:34 GMT5
My Mondeo is just due for the timing belt change (90,000 or 10 years)
and its done 90,450 and just a month over 10 years old. Bit skint and
would like to put it off for a month or two (2500 miles). Just
wondered if they are prone to going on this model or is it a only a
rod towing of a scrap car23 Sep 2009 14:09 GMT19
I have a properly designed towing bar (Clarke I think) & have used it
a couple of times to help friends broken down without any problems.
I want to use it to scrap a car I have that's an MOT failure. But it's
