Can braided,flexible brake lines replace copper pipe?21 Nov 2009 13:28 GMT14
My van has failed its MOT today on a corroded brake line. It is around 6
foot long, and is rather tortuous in its path, so much so, that I'm not
sure if it is possible to replace it without dismantling anything that
is bolted on that side of the van.
Wheel bolts20 Nov 2009 21:52 GMT20
I've fitted 5mm spacers to my BMW fronts so the inside edges don't rub on
extreme full lock (i.e. they only rub if you are holding it hard against
the stop and going fast in small circles). I probably could have got away
with 3mm spacers but I couldn't be arsed to go round the ...

headlight in situ and now have holder and bulb on about 5mm of
moveable harness so very hard to feeel and see it. Question is I cant

I seem to have a leak from the upper connection to the steering rack.
The obvious thing seems to be check it's tight enough - any advice
welcome as have never touched this kind of system before?

Nissan micra circa 1995 (N plate) ignition system19 Nov 2009 09:05 GMT4
I have not looked under the bonnet.  The car started and quickly stalled
in wet weather, I just need to know its basic setup to give some advice.
I may not get a chance to look under the bonnet.
Can anyone tell me what is the likely ignition system in a Nissan Micra
Audi 100 2.3E avant 1988 fuel pump - part 218 Nov 2009 11:01 GMT5
I asked here about a month ago about fuel pump location for '88 Audi
100 2,3E. I found it, and it looks like it died. When I turn the key
there is +12V for few seconds at the terminal I marked (+) here:

Why does mondeo rev on its own when turning full lock?17 Nov 2009 22:44 GMT13
Revs up to about 2000 rpm for a moment and then drops down again. The
moment you try to move it shoots up again. Still does it if you move
off with a bit of accelerator or none at all. Very difficult at
monuvering speeds.

Obtaining service schedule17 Nov 2009 00:46 GMT6
Silly question, but where would you obtain the service schedule (what needs
to be done every X,000 miles) for a vehicle?  I'm looking for one for a 1988
Mitsubishi Colt, where the service handbook only gives the checks after the
first 600 miles, and the only workshop manual ...
Vectra stalls at lights16 Nov 2009 19:33 GMT4
Starts and runs well when cold but when warm  it stalls when you stop at
traffic lights.
I've seen this mentioned in relation to a few cars what is the likely cause.
Fiesta heating (Mk5 1999)16 Nov 2009 18:26 GMT4
When I turn the heating to cold there is still warmth in the air.
Looking in Haynes at how it works I can only think that the "coolant
valve" isnt working correctly.
1) any other possible explanations?
1994 1.4l Corsa - interference engine?15 Nov 2009 18:03 GMT6
Broken cam belt. Is it an interference job or will it be fixable with a new
belt, generally speaking?
