Borrowed one of these. WHY THE f.ck DID ANYONE BUY ONE? 2.3l engine, turbocharged. Making 135 horses. Interior not dramatically dissimilar to the one I had in my 25 year old 340. Crap ride for a big barge.

Just looked up car hire in Aus. It suggested the Hyundai Getz and Nissan Pulsar. I think I'll hire a pushbike. (Fraser, do you lot travel around American style, where you've got vast distances between everything and no pavements, or is it more like

Picked up a N reg MX5 for a mate yesterday, has reminded me what a great car they are to drive. It's a 1.6 and it's basic bar alloys... Best way to get a bit more go out of it? What's the usual path - it's got a K&N kit with it (not fitted, owner bought the kit and never got round ...

| Xenon HID retrofits: an optical engineer's view | 02 Jun 2006 11:43 GMT | 22 |
I modified a pair of spare headlight units for my SO's BMW E36 over the last week or two. Osram ballasts, Philips D2S lamps and original Bosch reflectors with special cutoff 'masks'. The difference is simply *astounding*. I knew they would be an improvement, but Jesus do they do ...

| Small, decent driving lights. | 01 Jun 2006 21:10 GMT | 12 |
I need some driving lights. They can't be any larger than about 100mm dia, or they'll get in the way of the headlight beams. Ideally, they need to be around 90mm. I really would like them actually work though. All the accessory shops seem to sell, are Ring "angel eye" things.
