Anyone remember the Clarkson SD1? Think British Racing Green, gold wheels, Cossie whale tail and 5.2 litres of nuttiness. This might help you remember: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlmW8KrzxDo

| Nit picking topic. | 04 Jun 2007 19:20 GMT | 20 |
After the "character" discussion and years of experience in here I know we can pick faults with everything as there's no such thing as a perfect car so lets get to work on almost anything. S2000, massively dull inside, the dash in a Jazz is better it's just a lump

| 'Performance' brake pads | 03 Jun 2007 22:37 GMT | 39 |
What's the verdict on them? I'm thinking EBC Greenstuff for the 75, but are there any better options? (Brake upgrades will be done one bit at a time, 'cos I don't want to

| who knows stuff about spark plugs and turbos? | 03 Jun 2007 18:21 GMT | 24 |
As the plugs in the Rangie appear to have been in it for about 3 years and are beginning to die I thought I'd ask on 'ere if anyone *knows* anything much about plugs and turbo engines. Engine is blueprinted, low compression EFi 3.5 Rover V8 running around 7 psi

...don't buy 'em. I bought my Boss' passat TDi 115BHp (woo, yeah, exciting..) for a song back before new year, 'cos it wasn't running particularly well - wierd throttle response, lacking power. He reckoned it was fooked, but I

f.cking cheap sh.t Halfords dizzie and rotor arm. Only other one I could get locally was an intermotor. Fitted them, and up she fired but ran rough as a bears arse, and wouldn't idle.

As I'm about to build myself another project, I suppose I should sell my lovely lil' Mk2 Golf. '89 Mk2 3dr GTi, Tornado red, steel wheels, small bumper, 2.0 AGG Mk3 Golf block with PB head, around £4k of bills, full service history from new with

| Soft Touch Dashboards | 03 Jun 2007 12:39 GMT | 7 |
After the massive fuss made about cheap plastics, both by SteveH and the presenters of top gear, I was massively disappointed to find out that "soft touch" is the rubber paint that flakes off the interior trim of modern VWs. I had imagined that perhaps the dashboard was covered ...

| New arrival: Saab 9000 CD | 02 Jun 2007 12:51 GMT | 20 |
The Samba's probably going back on the 'bay and I needed a short-term drive. (PeteM why didn't you advertise the Golf a few days ago?). Anyone want a dead Samba? Or can think of uses for one? Advertised in the Saab owners club forum;

| Back off the road | 01 Jun 2007 22:27 GMT | 9 |
First proper outing in the Rover and the gear linkage went :( So the car's now stuck in 4th - it's just about drivable (gotta love that v8 torque) which meant I could get it to a pub car park where I could wait for recovery whilst sinking a few pints. So now I've gotta try and ...
