| Anybody know anything about cobra alarms? | 10 May 2008 17:05 GMT | 24 |
The alarm on the aero is playing up. I think it is the replacement fob that is buggered. The fob is a Tech-tronics replacement. I found the receipt for it in the owners wallet.

| Paging the people what know | 08 May 2008 19:30 GMT | 13 |
I'm thinking of getting grooved disks for my 406. The thing is, Brembo don't appear to make any, and 406s are known to warp discs fairly regularly, so I want some decent ones, which may mean buying standard Brembo and grooving them. ISTR reading in the likes of CCC that it's ...

| Mechanical TD tuning (ping Abo?) | 08 May 2008 16:01 GMT | 8 |
Hi chaps, I recently bought a 306TD for SWMBO. It's a '97, but in decent nick, 2 prev owners and 81k miles. Anyway, it looks likely that it's going to be the family runaround, with me doing a good chunk of the driving, so

| Well that was nice... | 07 May 2008 23:32 GMT | 28 |
Drove a 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S yesterday. Not as quick as you'd think off the mark (might be something to do with the fact I'm used to the performance big bikes put out)... but ever so smooth and feels really well built.

| Old mobiles. Quite possibly Nokia. | 07 May 2008 17:17 GMT | 101 |
Hmm. Whilst faffing about in the 4.6 this afternoon I discovered it has an old style mobile hands free kit. I knew it had the aerial, but this afternoon discovered that everything else is there as well, but I don't know what type of phone it uses.

197 Cup - Grip. Internal organ shifting amounts of grip. More grip than anything ever. Awesome sound, 100-0 in just sub 4 seconds - the brakes were epic (big Brembos all round). Great engine that just begged to be twatted. Good gearbox. Didn't check for cup holders, dash in ...

| Octavia dashboard | 06 May 2008 13:59 GMT | 13 |
I have a 2001 Octavia that I wish to convert to left hand drive, as you do. To open up the options, & hopefully decrease cost - would the dash from a relevant era Golf or Passat fit? (Or for that matter, Seat or Audi?) I'm just thinking it might be easier to get a previously ...

| Got the Aero back. | 04 May 2008 17:33 GMT | 23 |
HG changed, rear washer fixed and engine top mount polybushed(a mod). During the 12k service he spotted the rear discs and pads close to end of life so got them swapped. Headgasket, rear washer hose, engine top mount, rear discs and pads, 12k

Just to give you all a laugh I bought a Nokia N95 off Ebay. 'New unwanted upgrade' Paid about 2/3rds the new price. And it's a fake.
Signature *I have my own little world - but it's OK...they know me here*

I've been looking at new cars this past couple of days, like brand new, as I might have to do a lot of hospital mileage soon so I'm thinking I keep the Vee for weekends, and go back on the Motability scheme and have it as a second car for the

While the Aero is in. Surprisingly nice to drive considering it has done 150k. Interior and tactile surfaces spotless. Cupholder funky.
