I've not been around to post this earlier, but did anyone catch the news report last week (I think) regarding the M6 roadworks on the old Thelwall Viaduct? It seems that, after springing up overnight about 12 months ago without so much as a word, and being given an estimated

I had one of these as a hire car in France over the past few days and I was quite impressed by the performance of the engine, particularly the acceleration while on the move but I was disappointed with the noise. About five fears ago I abandoned diesels after having owned them for ...

| Clutch pedal reach on Vectra - can it be changed? | 24 Sep 2003 18:29 GMT | 6 |
In the recently acquired Vauxhall Vectra, for some reason I find the clutch pedal reach to be too great when seat is adjusted just fine for the accelerator pedal. So I can hardly keep the clutch pedal floored with my toe. This was not an issue in my previous Cavalier or other

My old mum has just had her Nissan Micra (L-reg IIRC) serviced and was informed that a "cross-member" (her words) had corroded and should be replaced. She was quoted £700. Now bearing in mind that I am not exactly sure what she means by "cross-member" could someone explain what ...

| number plate style | 23 Sep 2003 14:57 GMT | 1 |
I'm sure I read somewhere very recently (but I'll be buggered if I can find the source) that it is okay to have a "motorcycle style" number plate at the rear of an imported vehicle such as my 1994 Jap car, if the recess/ mounting point is such that it will not accept a conventional

Just been doing the annual round of insurance quotations. The figures generally ranged from ?330 to ?400 - but way out of line were Norwich Union Direct with just over ?600. "Quote me happy"? - well I laughed, anyway. Best by a small margin was Tesco which a number of people here ...
