Next Car?21 Sep 2003 09:51 GMT11
My first car was a Citroen AX Echo 1.1
Now I am currently driving Pug 106 XR 1.1 (K reg)
As it's getting old with lots of repairs done to it, I'm thinking about
getting rid of this car and get another car, but I'm not sure which one.
The man who haunted himself21 Sep 2003 00:56 GMT15
I need help identifying the blue sports car that appeared in the 1970 film
"The Man Who Haunted Himself" starring Roger Moore.
Anyone help?
Valve clearance adjustment20 Sep 2003 21:59 GMT2
Skoda Favorit '95.
The valves are supposed to be adjusted to 0.2mm cold but, after careful
adjustment, one or two are more rattly than they should be (even bearing in
mind the rattly nature of the engine). I even did the zorst valves to
Primer Question20 Sep 2003 16:33 GMT1
I was wandering, does it matter what colour primer you use when spraying or
will anyone do?
I am guessing one which isnt anywhere near the same colour as the car would
be good as then you can tell when you have covered it all up?

My two month old car has a problem with the airbag.
The dealer has said that the electronic control unit of the airbag has gone.
The part may be here on tuesday so until then I'll have this problem.
they did not have a courtesy car available so I was basically left with the

Follow on from Spray Painting Post19 Sep 2003 18:19 GMT1
I finally got round to spraying my car today, well the section in
question...
I prepared it all etc and did the primer yesterday as it said to leave it 24
hours. I sprayed the colour today (2 Coats) and then it said wait 30 mins
4.5K for C class MerC?19 Sep 2003 01:28 GMT2
Is 4.5K a decent price to pay for a C180 Mercedes which has done 130K+
miles? She is of the 1997/8 vintage.

Hello...18 Sep 2003 22:19 GMT3
Crumbs.
I came back here expecting it to be dead. Strangely, I still see the same
posters (Nom, and of course DervMan...etc)
Time stands still on Newsgroups, it seems!
Ebay dodgy bidder?18 Sep 2003 08:06 GMT7
For reasons i'll not even try to explain I have been biding on the
item below (not most people's taste but there you go...) ;-)
Anyway new bidder shows up, pulled his completed auctions and smelled
a bit haddocky to me.
fed up jacking up cars17 Sep 2003 19:26 GMT2
The humble jack hasnt been changed since the year dot & is long overdue
for some modern day features .
5 powered screw jacks would seem ideal .
One at each wheel & one sort of springy screw jack in the center to allow
Seat belt information17 Sep 2003 11:51 GMT1
I've got two questions - basically I'm looking into replacing the
middle rear seat-belt in my Peugeot 405 from a lap-belt to a
shoulder-belt (which I believe to be much safer) if at all possible.
So far I've had no joy - the local dealer says they can't do it (I
Spray Paint "Instructions"16 Sep 2003 23:56 GMT1
I have not done any spray painting previously, but I want to attempt some on
my Ford Escort to cover up a few marks on it.
My Dad has told me the basics about sanding down and filling etc etc, but I
was wandering if there is such things as a set of instructions online at all
Clio Williams 316 Sep 2003 11:58 GMT4
Hello all, lurked for ages, find the posts & answers fascinating. I am cross
with myself, as I recently parted with a large wedge of (hard earned) cash
for a '95 'N' plate Renault Clio Williams 3. I wasn't unduly worried, as I'd
had a Clio 16v previously which was pristine - well ...
Slipping clutch on automatic?16 Sep 2003 09:58 GMT6
I've got a 1998 V6 Renault Espace Auto.
Over the weekend a warning light came on twice indicating an "ignition"
problem.  The owners manual says that this may also be related to the
auto-box.
