Car insurance recommendations?09 May 2005 22:37 GMT15
I am thinking of changing my car insurance as, from the numerous adverts on
the TV, the industry seems to have changed a fair bit in the last 6 months.
For years I was with the AA - never again - and for the last 2 years I have
been with Direct Line.
How many times per engine revolution does a V8 fire?09 May 2005 22:14 GMT31
Just wondering... how many times does a V8 fire per engine revolution?
Trying to work out how many times each cylinder fires per second in
Honda's new F1 V8 that reputedly revs to 22500rpm......
Cheers
Car manufacturer's badges - Website?09 May 2005 14:28 GMT2
I am looking for a website that displays all the various car badges and logos
through the ages.
The main reason for this request is that my wife spotted a car with badge that
was a stylised "H", and it was not a Honda of Hyundai - any clues?

Out of date tax disc09 May 2005 00:32 GMT27
Car driven badly in Kirkby today, by what looks like a bit of a slapper.
When she parked up I saw that her Renault Megane S746 KFR had a tax disc
that ran out on 30th April.
Hope the slapper gets an automatic £80 fine!
Engine flush and AirCon Clean08 May 2005 19:24 GMT12
I have just booked my 12 month old Ford Focus into a main dealer for an
annual service.
They also tried to sell me an "engine flush" (to clean out all the old oil
before putting in the new), and a "bacterial clean" on my air conditioning
Civic type-r vs RX808 May 2005 19:11 GMT41
Anybody know which is faster in a straight line and which is faster
around a track between the Civic type-r and the RX8 (230).  This is to
settle an argument with a mate as we have both been in each others cars
and we can't decide.
Are all Mercedes drivers tossers?07 May 2005 23:11 GMT8
Obviously the answer to this is FALSE.
However, there is one car in Liverpool that sticks out a mile by the way it
is driven.

mot new test as seen in a mag07 May 2005 20:59 GMT7
Free MoT retests could soon be a thing of the past, due to new rules.
Currently, garages give customers a no-cost second inspection on cars which
fail at the first attempt, because they only recheck items which were
changed or fixed.

MoT question07 May 2005 13:36 GMT3
My imported car has a fog light which is one of the original reversing
lights, tinted red.
If I remove the red tint from the lens and use a red bulb instead, is that
OK for an MoT? I mean, the lamp has to be red in colour, but is that the

What car to buy when kids are 6 foot tall06 May 2005 21:34 GMT11
When I bought the Mondeo five years ago there was plenty of room for me
(6' 2") the wife (normal person size) and three sons. The oldest has
thankfully stopped growing at about 5' 10", the second is 6 foot and
still growing and the baby who is 12 is rapidly catching up at 5' 10". ...
