I've an '84 Classic Range Rover featuring a lower tailgate with external lever. Would the fittings etc of a later model with internal lever be suitable for a straight swap, as mine is now rusting?

| looking for a cheap ragtop. | 14 Jun 2005 12:16 GMT | 33 |
I'm looking to spend about £1500 on a ragtop for the summer. Not hugely bothered about performance, just for pottering around in. So far most I've come across are old BMWs and M/R reg Astras. The Astra looks OK to me, and the ones I've come across are well looked after and usually ...

| SORN question | 13 Jun 2005 21:16 GMT | 4 |
When you register a car as SORN, do you get any kind of certificate to say that it's been officially SORNed, or do you just have to hope they get it right at DVLA? TIA

| A rip off? | 13 Jun 2005 16:02 GMT | 5 |

| DVLA Incompetance | 13 Jun 2005 12:29 GMT | 5 |
I wonder if there are any web sites set up to collate the numerous instances of gross incompetence at the DVLA. Anybody know of any? I have my own little tail of woe here where the lazy staff and ineffective management don't know how to use postcode software, they keep confusing me

| Two questions about European cars in the UK | 13 Jun 2005 11:59 GMT | 6 |
1. Is it still the case that large savings on the price of new cars can be had by buying them from European dealerships and then registering them here? I know that, say, five years ago, this was true, but was wondering if the new car market here has "normalised".

| Clutch guarantee | 12 Jun 2005 18:16 GMT | 3 |
Had a new clutch put in on the 5/5/04 driving today and clutch is difficult to engage gears. Garage that fitted clutch (local garage) closes till Monday. Got the receipt but doesn`t say anything about the length of the guarantee. So are clutches usually guaranteed for 1 or 2

| Flash wash system. | 11 Jun 2005 18:14 GMT | 12 |
Was given one a few days ago. I'd never have baught one for myself. :-) £20 seems a lot for what it is. Used it today, and was surprised how well it worked. I didn't think the washing part was anything special, but the so called drying operation worked
