NCD question11 Jun 2005 17:38 GMT4
I have got a basic NCD question. I took out a Tesco car insurance as a new
driver with no NCD a year back. It has come up for renewal now and the
renewal quote price says 40% discount for 2 years NCD. I have only been with
them for a year and took out the insurance with 0 years NCD. ...

Had one for 7 days and finding it very poor on some of the steeper hills
around here. Can't make its mind up which gear to choose and sudden surges
when downshifting - very  jerky
Fine on the level but for a car six months old and 7,000 miles I feel very

Overnight Accomodation SPain?11 Jun 2005 00:40 GMT5
We are travelling from Santander to Periana in Andalucia, a journey of about
620 miles. It would appear that most of the journey is on the E5 motorway -
does anyone know if there are any overnight accommodation on the E5 just
south of Madrid as we have a special needs daughter ...
Car Identification Quiz10 Jun 2005 21:03 GMT2
Earlier today. NSL A-road, two lanes away from roundabout and up a shortish
hill. As you get to the (blind) brow, the second lane turns into hashes
then two solid white lines.
I'm in a 2cv, about in the middle of a string of a few cars - bit of a gap

Grass track banger racing10 Jun 2005 15:34 GMT3
After seeing the Top gear the other week with the lads finishing their
trial of the 1000 GBP motors on a grass track endurance race, I thought
it would be a good way to deal with an old car of mine that is fast
aproaching the end of its life [1].  However, google does not seem to ...

ford Ka camshaft question09 Jun 2005 20:09 GMT39
I'll be buying a Ka shortly and wish to go for one after the Endura
engine camshaft improvement was introduced. How do I find out if a
specific car has old or new camshaft please? I'm hoping for an engine
number cutoff, as registration date may not be precise enough.
Regassing aircon in London09 Jun 2005 19:45 GMT1
The a/c in my Peugeot 306 has started hissing somewhat when it's on, and is
less effective than previously at cooling the car. Although I've been trying
to use it regularly over the winter (about once a week) I'm guessing it
needs to be regassed. Assuming the pipes aren't cracked ...

Autocar's support for 4x4's09 Jun 2005 16:25 GMT70
In an attempt to support the purchase of 4x4's for use on the roads, Autocar
magazine has made a number of 'myth-busting' comments, including:
"4x4s are less economical than other cars": WRONG
The prevalence of diesel engines makes many 4X4s no more thirsty than a
