New MOT tests ?15 Jul 2005 13:32 GMT3
Car went in this week for it's MOT and I was surprised to see the local
station have changed to a new computerised system. I guess the details
get entered online and are then available for the Police to check now
along with the insurance and reg details when they follow me, which ...
4 metre plastic gutter in a Micra?15 Jul 2005 11:43 GMT12
I am considering attempting to transport a 4 metre length of plastic
guttering in a Nissan Micra K-series hatchback bubble car.
Distance from DIY store to home = 2 miles.
Is this feasible? Let the excess hang out of the back and tie a rag on

What a pair of smug gits in that VW thingy.
The leccy car was the ugliest thing I've seen on a road, but fair play
to the guy, he wasn't bothered.
That young Asian bloke was a laugh.
Astra SRi Fuel consumption12 Jul 2005 19:56 GMT16
I have an "05" (March 05) Vauxhall Astar 2 Ltr Turbo SRi and I am concerned
over its fuel consumption. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get above 34
mpg on long runs despite using 6th gear and keeping to 70 mph on the
Motorways. My previous Vectra 2 Ltr CDX managed to return ...

First car12 Jul 2005 13:17 GMT5
Any ideas on a cheap ( ~ £500) car for a new driver? Would prefer diesel and
small, being as she's only small, but I reckon bigger would be a better bet
at that price. Thinking along the lines of 205 / 106 / AX / Clio / Micra,
and I'm thinking a Micra or a MK3 Golf diesel might be ...
High Motorway mileage cars..12 Jul 2005 12:00 GMT40
We all know that a car that spends it's life on the motorway is going to be
in a better state at 100,00
miles than one that's done that all around town. There must come a point
though when the speed you drive

wheel arch of my Vectra is no longer working. Does anyone know how you
get that small thing out of the bodywork to get at the lightbulb?
I've tried levering it out with a bit of plastic but it only comes out
That bunch of traffic lights that featured on Top Gear tonight...11 Jul 2005 19:48 GMT20
Are they for real or just an art thing? They featured a couple of
times in the car vs runner thing around London. They seemed to make
out they were near Canary Wharf.
