Anyone interested ?
Isurance questions09 Aug 2005 20:45 GMT4
Spent this morning doing some quotes for my sister who just got her first
car, she is stillon a provisional license.
She has her test next week and is 21 in a couple of months. The cheapest
place by a fair way was diamond, however. In order to pay monthly it will
Random question - 5 door A3?09 Aug 2005 19:16 GMT35
Something's been bugging me for a while. As I understood it, the new shape
A3 is the first in the line to have a 5-door version, right? No worries
there - until I moved to where I currently live, I had *never* seen a 5 door
old-shape A3.

I am 50 y.o. and because I haven't owned a car in more than 10 years I have
0 years no claims .

What oil do I use?08 Aug 2005 21:31 GMT4
I am an oil novice. My last few cars have been French and required no oil
top-ups ever!
I know my 2002 Alfa Romeo 156 2.0JTS requires frequent oil checks and
usually a top-up, but I ran out last month and we go on holiday on Tuesday
German car in UK08 Aug 2005 16:16 GMT2
I'd like to buy a car with German plates in U.K. and drive back to
Poland. WHat am I supposed to do to leave Britain with it ? Should I
register it temporarily in UK or I'm able to drive to Germany (and
there re-register it with my name).
Mercedes CLS07 Aug 2005 21:37 GMT8
Ok... I'm driving up the M8 this morning when a silver Mercedes CLS
'wooshes' past me. First one I've seen on the road.
Honestly don't know what to make of it, not sure about the headlights,
but the side windows look really really small - looked curvy, coupe

Spincaps advice06 Aug 2005 12:11 GMT12
A friend has had 2 of his 4 "anti theft" dust caps on his car stolen. He
bought some of these Spin Caps expecting them to still be on his car,
but alas they are not.
Do the spincaps have a unique key or can anyone with a key get them off?
Opinions/alternatives on Suzuki Alto please (Yes I know it's cheap and possibly rubbish..)06 Aug 2005 10:55 GMT10
Apologies for the long post...
I've got £4500 to spend on a car to get my missus to work and back.
We have a C-Max for "family time" when we need to ferry the 2 kids about and
am looking for a second car which is realistically only going to be used to

manual or flappy paddles...?05 Aug 2005 22:02 GMT109
Ok, BMW call them SMG gearboxes and VW call them DSG and am sure there

gear using buttons / paddles or other 'thingys' at the steering wheel.
What do we think of them? From what I understand, the DSG is ...

Rapid bonus insurance schemes05 Aug 2005 10:35 GMT11
Are these schemes a good idea for building up NCB for young drivers or is
there a catch? Anyone with any experience of them? Both Norwich Union direct
and Elephant seem to offer them.
Thanks
