Penalty for driving with no MOT?30 Nov 2005 20:51 GMT14
There doesn't seem to be an "Endorsement Offence Code" for driving a
car without an MOT, so I was wondering if that's covered by MS60
"Miscellaneous Offences not covered by other codes as appropriate", or
you'd just get a fine instead of any penalty points?
Finance on a car30 Nov 2005 16:11 GMT3
Hi. Just wondering about this possible pitfall in buying a used car.
I'm told that if I'm unlucky and the seller still owes on the car, the
car can be repossessed from you. How do I avoid this? There's a way to
do a credit check on the seller, isn't there? And am I protected from
Laugh?30 Nov 2005 09:37 GMT7
....I nearly cr@pped myself... I was watching Top Gear, since you ask.
Funniest part? Could've been JC having to stop every 80 miles to fill
up his Ford GT. Or JC admitting that he'd bought it a second time,
having originally sent it back. Or the driving round Paris, and in
Consumer rights - used cars30 Nov 2005 08:27 GMT12
I just got a new (used) car with built-in satellite navigation. The
monitor for this is built-in and is used for the radio/cd/tape as well
as various other functions.
The car is 4 years old and was bought from a dealer - I picked it up
Cancel car insurance, pay 80% premium?28 Nov 2005 18:39 GMT463

everyone thinks their situation is bad but compared to others, is
rosy).
I have lost my job and I wanted to call the insurance company (hastings
solar powered telemetry28 Nov 2005 17:39 GMT3
Probably more appropriate for the transport groups but I don't read
those. I have noticed a number of ~1m2 solar panels on short poles
with cabinets at the bottom, all green, adjacent to tarred lines that
cover inductive loops on one carriageway. These seem to have sprung up

I was wondeirng where I can find a good used car, so far on my list I have
searched auto-trader, desperate seller, and my local paper.
Just wondering if anyone could nudge me in the right direction to where else
I could look?

Auto Windscreens27 Nov 2005 18:06 GMT3
Any good or bad experiences?
I need to get the screen on my Saab 9-3 replaced and it looks like my
insurance (AA) suggest them.
It's one of these screens that isn't graduated but does have a sort of
Bonnet stuck shut on a Seat Leon Cupra R27 Nov 2005 12:06 GMT3
I have just tried to fill the water bottle on my Leon and I can't get
the bonnet open, it has stuck shut. When you pull the releasing lever
the bonnet raises about a quarter of an inch, but the second stage
releasing catch will not come out. No amount of manual pushing, pulling

Auto Express best buy?
Cheers.
What car?27 Nov 2005 10:09 GMT5
I've got around £10K to spend on a used car.
I do around 20K miles per year and prefer a largish car. I'm opting for a diesel at around the 2 litre power region. It would be very handy if it had cruise control and I'm not against automatics.
I'm looking at a Renault Laguna 1.9 ...
Look at these insurance rates! I'm so excited!!!27 Nov 2005 08:09 GMT1
