Lifetime of a car battery?15 Mar 2006 23:56 GMT10
I have a 4.5 years old Astra and the battery is totally flat. It started
first turn of the key this morning when I moved it out of the driveway onto
the road to get another car out of the garage.
Won't start at all now - in fact it won't even turn over at all! Is the
*UPDATE* Mismatched Paint Saga*14 Mar 2006 11:55 GMT36
Well .. you probably won't beleive this... it's quite long so be warned!
I went to the garage to meet this engineer working on behalf of my insurance
comany. He goes off with the body shop manager to look at my car. I was left
in reception. Then he came back and said 'Come on lets ...
Which Insurance?14 Mar 2006 03:48 GMT28
I'm looking for some advice on my car insurance.  A lot of my quotes
have very high excess (upto £500).  My mum tells me that only stupid
people would go for that.  The quotes vary a bit, but my best one was
£370 with break down cover.  Most quotes are around £400.
first car - recommendations13 Mar 2006 21:06 GMT8
Firstly I would like to thank you for replies to my last post 'buying
first car'. It's really helpful and it gave my some idea about cars and
cost coming with it.
Now I'd like to ask more detailed questions.

Anybody know of any FREE used car valuation sites apart from Parkers. I
could get a Glass's report for £2.95, is it worth it?
I'm looking to trade in so any info on what the trade uses would be handy
Cheers

Vehicle bhp13 Mar 2006 15:26 GMT2
What's the easiest way to find out the BHP of a car just using the Reg
Plate?
A friend has a Galaxy but doesn't know wether it's a 90 or 115 BHP. Doesn't
say on log book and local Frord dealer thought they we're all 90 BHP because

I had my test drive last night, and I have to say (Hand on heart) I
fell in love with it as soon as I got in the drivers seat!! :)
I pulled out onto the main road, and after driving the rover 620ti,
thought I would be prepared for the power...I wasn't! The bloody car

Can I buy a British car with a US dollar payment option?13 Mar 2006 10:26 GMT15
I've had a reasonable amount of dollars in a US bank account for a few years
now and am reluctant to transfer it to the UK because of the unfavourable
exchange rate that has been prevalent for while. I live in the UK.
I need a new car. I wouldn't want to pay in dollars just to get ...

Just called in to buy a new book of vouchers and picked up a leaflet

Time to jump ship.. advice please12 Mar 2006 11:30 GMT9
I have a 1998 1.4 Fiesta Ghia X which some may be familiar with due to
previous posts on here. It's a great little car but I'm thinking it may
be time to jump ship and buy another car.
The Fiesta has just had its 90k service and the mechanic reckoned that
How much can a P100 carry?12 Mar 2006 11:25 GMT11
Seems I've just bought myself a Ford P100 pickup from my place of work.
My sealed tender was accepted and I have a K reg diseasel for 53 quid.
It failed an MOT around Christmas for something to do with the steering
rack and they were quoted 250 to get it through.
