Rant: How damned hard is it to buy a car?20 Apr 2006 16:44 GMT12
I tried to buy a (Fiat) car from an internet-based broker. Their 2 week
delivery time was pretty much expired before they contacted me to tell
me I'd have to wait 10-12 weeks for the car in only *nearly* the spec I
want.
Sports saloon options20 Apr 2006 11:51 GMT28
I am looking for an idea for a car and have been looking for the last four
weeks without much success.
Budget is £12.5 - £13k
Need four or five doors
Finance: what's your thoughts on this?20 Apr 2006 08:49 GMT9
I'm not buying a new car, but hypothetically speaking...
On a car finance deal, the interest is calcualted daily/monthly or whatever,
it is not pre-calculated and charged up front (so you pay the interest
first, then what you borrowed...) like some loans.
Focus ST170 vs Leon Cupra vs Honda Type-R20 Apr 2006 07:37 GMT27
Real decision to make here.  I am after a sportyish car and a second
hand Focus ST, Leon Cupra and Honda Types-R just about fit into my
budget of £10k.  The question is which one to go for!  The Honda may
just be out of my price brackett as i have not really seen one under
test driving cars20 Apr 2006 07:37 GMT62
I've been reading lots of reviews of cars and test driving loads also.
However I'm really struggling to find a non-horrible car. I think the
new Ford Focus is not bad and the New Vauxhall Astra is not bad but
they're not terribly great either. I think the Honda Jazz drives really

Which do you prefer? Panda or Modus?19 Apr 2006 16:24 GMT23
Has anyone had a longer experience than a test drive in both the new
fiat panda and the renault modus? I'm going to drive the modus tomorrow
(having made up my mind to buy a Panda only for the dealer to be rude
and lose my custom). A pre-registered Modus costs hardly any more money
Online price guides?19 Apr 2006 08:17 GMT12
Are there any other online price guides apart from Parkers? The car
I'm after isn't listed on Parkers.
Cheers

Talking of diddy cars...18 Apr 2006 20:18 GMT26
Could I have some suggestions for a little town car for a 5-foot-nothing,
lacking in confidence at the moment, woman to drive, please? No motorway
use, reliability and economy important, obviously.
So far I've looked at the usual suspects - Matiz, Charade, Cinquecento etc.
FAO Steve Firth / Jag likers18 Apr 2006 19:19 GMT10
My Dad's after a newer Jag, post 95 ish, to replace his XJ40. How does the
model range work on these? Is there still a Sovereign?
Other than that - are the 3.2s still no cheaper on juice than the 4.0? My
Dad's a very steady driver and does few miles, but would like a car that
car maintenance18 Apr 2006 16:38 GMT18
I take my car to the garage once a year for a service. However I'm
wondering if it may need oil changes etc. more often than this, and if
so what to do about it.
Do you think it's a good idea for car owners to learn to do their own
Motorbikes *do* have there uses :)18 Apr 2006 08:10 GMT3

What type is this morris car?17 Apr 2006 23:18 GMT6
Anyone know the model?
Took these photos while going for a walk around the countryside this
afternoon and was wondering... really shame the owner left it to rust away!
:(
