This is well worth reading. My wife wondered why I'm sitting here laughing
out loud:

And no, it's not me selling the car.
Mercedes CLK320 Tip 31 May 2006 19:09 GMT5
I'm looking to buy a second-hand CLK320 Tip.  I am however a little confused
by the Tip designation.  Parkers shows both standard Auto and 'Auto/Tip'
options for this model.  I thought all Mercedes Auto boxes had the gate that
allowed semi-manual operation?

Every issue for the first 10 years including number 1 , then a few from the
last couple of years.

Jap sports cars; buying advice31 May 2006 14:39 GMT12
I currently drive a Celica GT-Four, but it's getting a bit long in the
tooth and I think it is time to get something newer. Even though they
are noisy bone-shakers and have an undesirable "chav" image, I still
want yet another Jap sports car.
Fifth Gear "competition" car... 31 May 2006 13:33 GMT12
VBH driving a blue Honda S2000 this week in the article about
prototype-azzis - obviously filmed earlier this year.
Anyone remember this car being the prize in a Fifth Gear comp about, ooh, 18
months to 2 years ago.   She said it was "hers" at that time...
Air-con service in Oxford31 May 2006 11:30 GMT3
Anyone got any suggestions for somewhere around Oxford that will
service the air-con in my car?
My car (Daewoo Lanos) has not had its air-con serviced in the 5 years
I've had it (that was silly wasn't it, I didn't really think about it).
Who makes Ford's diesels - Renault?31 May 2006 07:43 GMT18
Is it Renault that makes the Ford diesel engines? Don't they also make the
Nissan diesel engines also?
Thanks,
John.
Update on the 'Shafted' Mondeo Driveshaft !!31 May 2006 07:03 GMT16
Hi to all who helped out with my long, rambling post about the shafted
driveshaft incident on my old Mondeo (the Mk.II 2.0 Zetec Ghia X).
I just banged on the new (non-Ford) driveshaft this afternoon, as per the
recommendations of the group. The car now drives beautifully again - ...
Air resistance & air dams30 May 2006 22:00 GMT7
My punto 1.3 multijet van does around 52mpg at 70/75mph.
At an indicated 57/60mph, around 74mpg.
These are steady speeds on relatively empty motorways and in the latter
example fitting in with the speed of HGV`s in the inside lane.
Need Help identifying ford wiring please30 May 2006 06:54 GMT2
I have been asked by er indoors to fit a cd player to her transit van, I
have removed the old stereo, a Ford 4000 traffic, but I do not know the pin
outs on the connectors, I have tried the local motor spares, but the
connector they have listed does not fit.
Small and sporty29 May 2006 18:09 GMT14
My Mondeo is about to die, on the plus side for the first time ever I have a
chance to think about what car I would like and a *bit* (approx 3 grand) of
money to spend on one.. For some reason my heart keeps saying an MX-5, not
to everyone's taste I'm sure, but I really like it.. ...

English to English28 May 2006 11:47 GMT19
I'm doing a native check on a car sales training course and have come
across the abbreviation CRB in connection with vehicle features. IANA
salesman, and don't know what it stands for. I do remember FAB
(features, advantages, benefits) from doing training courses years ago,
Courier work ( part time)28 May 2006 10:53 GMT7
Cant figure out how to make it work, or whether in my case is it worth
trying? Any advice would be much appreciated. I`m 58, retired with a
private pension that puts me straight into the 22% tax band, so I have no
tax free allowance if I do some part time work.
