| Hypothetical question | 16 May 2006 14:24 GMT | 8 |
Let's suppose you have a cat C vehicle that's going to be put back on the road... and the person who'd been paid out on it had had the presence of mind to hold onto the green new keepers slip when they exchanged the vehicles documents for a big fat cheque off the insurance company.

| window handle | 16 May 2006 12:28 GMT | 4 |
97 escort has O/S passenger door handle missing. I'm not too fussy about a visual match so is the splined axle a universal size? eg. Can I use a handle from a newer escort/fiesta/mondeo?

| The jokes on me (i) | 16 May 2006 08:08 GMT | 6 |
Found the bonnet release lock and find that the raw noise I referred to in an earlier, and much enjoyed post is caused by a bloody EFI unit bolted to the engine. Before I collected the car I read that the 1.3 is capable of 90 blob mph.

| What family/estate car to buy? | 14 May 2006 19:54 GMT | 20 |
We've just had our first child and plan to have another in the next 2 years. I need to upgrade from my P reg VW Golf as it's not big enough, doesn't have air conditioning and has a problem with the gearbox. I'm probably going to buy an estate as I don't want to buy a saloon and

| Smoking engine | 13 May 2006 20:32 GMT | 11 |
My '98 Astra TD is whacking out a remarkabe amount of smoke. Its fine pottering along but under hard acceleration, and particularly at low speeds in top gear with very low revs it smokes like a bastard. Its obviously burning oil.

| Gear position sensor for a manual tranny | 12 May 2006 15:14 GMT | 17 |
I've got a manual tranny, and I'd like to know what gear I'm in. I'm reading in GPS data, speed, RPM, etc, but the one thing I'm lacking is the gear. It's a regular 5speed. One thing, I'd like to not get anywhere near the tranny itself, so I'd like to set this up under the

Hi there, I own an M reg fiesta Mistral 1.25 64000 miles. It has had this problem for about a year, when the car slows down at junctions or lights the revs will tend to drop so low it cuts out. Sometimes it may over rev when idleing. Recentley it did this when stopped at a zebra

I'm no car expert so I'm hoping someone on this newsgroup can help me... A couple of weeks ago we saw a couple of cars on a transporter near Pease Pottage on the A23. My SO was very keen on the look of the car and I'm trying to find out more about it. Forgive what are ...
