Snow and modern 4x4s - dummies question17 Jun 2006 15:48 GMT6
When I was a child back in the '70s we had one really bad winter where the
roads were closed and, as 4x4s were then so rare, a radio appeal went out
for 4x4 owners to aid the emergency services, ferry ill people to hospital,
etc.

VW DSG auto boxes.15 Jun 2006 20:34 GMT17
I'm getting bored of stirring gears and I'm tempted by a VW with the twin
clutch DSG gearbox.  (See

for a desciption)

Cleaning wheels.15 Jun 2006 08:04 GMT27
Just had my car hand washed by some guys who are doing great business
alongside a roadside cafe. First time I've used them, but they've been going
about year now.
To get to the point, they've got some marvellous 'chemical' to clean wheels.

Tyre Pressure device14 Jun 2006 10:34 GMT9
I had RAC called out to replace a tyre on my car.
They seemed to use some kind of device to increase the tyre pressure of the
spare, but I could not see any manual pumping that was required.
What device was he using?  Is it possible to buy one for private use?

Merc A160 CDI auto11 Jun 2006 21:07 GMT16
About a week ago I was pleased when the rental company at Bergamo upgraded
me to a 6 week old auto Merc A160 CDI with about 3000km on the clock.  We'd
booked it for our holiday in the Italian Dolomites, and were looking forward
to driving in something more upmarket than my Astra 1 ...
