Driving along the M23 this evening I was passed by a 4xFord of some sort.
Rear wishbones, very big and boxy, about the same size as the Explorer but

Anyone any ideas what it could have been? I couldn't see any rear badges
Megane not starting (and then.. it does)?12 Oct 2006 01:33 GMT1
Renault Megane turning over but not starting - suddenly happens after many
years of hassle free motoring etc.. Checks - lots of fuel, fuel to
cylinders, good spark to plugs, cams turning, battery fine. So, the local
mechanic says - the compression sounds low (magic tool says Cyl ...
DSG automatics.  Where do they lose efficiency?12 Oct 2006 00:06 GMT17
In the past I've always believed that automatic gearboxes lost efficiency
largely in their torque converters.  This was one of the reasons I plumped
for a VW with the DSG gearbox which (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't
use one.

My wife was recently offered gap insurance, something we'd never even heard

Insurance repair or write-off. How long do they take to decide?09 Oct 2006 13:01 GMT65
I was involved in an accident in my MKIV Supra on 17th September, and about
a week later I notified the insurers (was waiting for the other parties
details).
The assessors made their way to the car graveyard (G E Sparkes, M/cr), to do

I have family that live over in Northern Ireland that I've not seen in a

was planning on taking him across, but he hasn't got a passport.
He's 17 and hasn't been abroad before so has never had the need for ...
Ford Focus - front seatbelt problem when parked on incline?09 Oct 2006 09:54 GMT10
Have any other Ford Focus owners noticed that the front seat belt won't

suggests this is by design but I think it's terrible, as if you happen
to be parked in such a way, it means that you have to start driving

Alternator output, is it variable?08 Oct 2006 21:47 GMT31
Is it worth moderating the use of the electrics in a car? Does using lights,
demister etc have an effect on MPG?
I would have thought the alternator spins at a certain rate and knocks out a
certain amount of electricity regardless.
