Corsa Life Boot24 Jan 2007 15:30 GMT5
The boot did not seem to be unlocking as part of the central locking -
I put this down to the cold and tried the key - heypresto, it opened,
but on closing again seemed to refuse to open. So I unlocked it with
the key and in the course of examining the car pushed the little latch

No main beam23 Jan 2007 15:49 GMT2
I've had to replace a headlight bulb and now there is no Full Beam,
just dipped Headlights.I did this not realising that I should have
disconnected the negative lead from the battery first. I have checked
the fuses for the Main Beams in the Auxilary Fuse box and they both are
Pikey Irish Plate23 Jan 2007 00:45 GMT30
I'm currently in discussion with a bloke selling a pre-GM SAAB 900
convertible. The price isn't too bad but he's sticking on the value of
the Irish plate that's on it. He reckons it's worth about £500 (FIL
4330). Personally, I can see it far enough and it's not a plus point to
Tyre / Wheel Compatibility Question22 Jan 2007 10:54 GMT42
Here goes:
My old banger has 145/80/13 tyres on the wheels.
My reading is 145 is the width, 13 is the diameter and 80 the "aspect
ratio" (what the hell does that mean (depth?)?
Seeking bolt-in Schraeder valve22 Jan 2007 01:15 GMT10
I'm trying to find a car-tyre valve (ie ordinary Schraeder type) - ie
the whole assembly, not just the insert - that I can pass through a hole
in a flat surface and seal it (presumably with a bolt and washer either
side of the surface.  (The idea is to make an adaptor to enable ...

Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 diesel20 Jan 2007 18:12 GMT23
Does anyone here own one - if so, is it any good eg. engine, handling,
reliability etc? Thinking of getting a hatch or estate as a company
car. Also considering a Mondeo, Vectra or Passat. The Skoda seems to
have a fairly low CO2 rating coupled with decent performance.
Buying Part Ex's from Main Dealers20 Jan 2007 12:25 GMT22
Can't believe how difficult I've found finding a car privately.
B*****d illegal immigrant turned right into me when I was going straight
on on a main road, writing off my beloved old Peugeot 205, and has ruined
my life for the past few weeks.
Peugeot 306 clutch adjustment20 Jan 2007 10:52 GMT6
How do you adjust a clutch for 306 1.6D ?
I hear there is some sort of automatic device
so replacing cable wont do much good.
The biting is at fairly high position and for

Silly women18 Jan 2007 17:21 GMT6
Is there anything more pathetic than morning TV? This morning's ITV
rendition of an outside broadcast focussing on today's storms, whilst
being graphically capable of demonstrating the idea of a storm was just
about as useless a transmission as they have put out.

I posted this in alt.autos.audi - but had no replies...
I have recently picked up a 2004 A3 2.0TDI DSG - its fantastic!
In the handbook, it mentions the Launch Control procedure. In the small
print, it mentions that it is available on 6cyl DSG engines (which is
