Changing cars - learner-driver daughter :-(13 Mar 2007 13:10 GMT20
My daughter's 17th birthday is looming (well, it's some months away yet
but I'm already having cold sweats) and she'll undoubtedly be applying
for her provisional licence to start on the day, God help me.
I have a vehicle suitably tatty and elderly for her to practice in - an
Pothole damage to alloy rims - Can't I claim off someone?12 Mar 2007 22:23 GMT98
Hit a huge pothole in the road this morning...
Seems to have dented the rims of my alloy wheels slightly. I would say
that the road was not in an acceptable condition which causes this
damage to occur.
Getting rid of car polish on the black areas of body panels12 Mar 2007 14:36 GMT5
Have been too careless in applying the car polish and now have white
patches on the black body panels. Does anyone know how to get rid of
these patches?

Of all the garages in the world....11 Mar 2007 20:21 GMT10
Why must everything I touch turn to sh.t?
My ebay sh.tter Alfa was almost OK at the back end of last year after the
bottom end was recondotioned, just smoking a bit and a plug fouling up.
In for a penny....back to the garage.
Removing  car radio11 Mar 2007 17:41 GMT6
This car radio has a vertical row of two small holes, about 1.5" apart,
on each front end cheek. Are they to do with releasing the radio so it
can be removed? (ie, do I push a suitably sized rod into each of them?)

Seat Ibiza 1995 Wheel Size09 Mar 2007 21:38 GMT1
I have bought a 1995 Seat Ibiza 1.4 and am looking into the possibility of
buying some alloy wheels to fit to it. The tyres on the car now are 14" (the
tyre size is 155/80/13) but according to most of the alloy wheel sites online
the car is shown as having 15" wheels

Vauxhall Astra Advert09 Mar 2007 18:36 GMT12
Not that I want to rain on GM's parade or anything, but this advert
irritates me. For the money they paid for all those CGI Astras leaping
about they could have hired Equipe Remy Julienne and had it done
properly.
Corsa indicator fault08 Mar 2007 20:34 GMT2
Sorry if this is a silly question: I'm not expecting a miraculous remote
diagnosis, but perhaps others have seen the same problem. My '94 Corsa
has developed that frustrating thing, an intermittent fault. Sometimes
the turn indicators work normally, and sometimes they don't work at ...
big end bearings08 Mar 2007 18:58 GMT3
Just been checking over an engine before its put in to a car and found some
marks on the big bearing shells. Now how do I know if I should just replace
the shells or need to get the crank ground.
Cheers

Just wondering - your XM's got the 2.0T 8v engine in it, hasn't it?
Is it a manual gearboxed model?
