What car?30 Jul 2007 16:20 GMT19
I've been driving a mk4 golf bog standard 1.6 which is not a very fun ride
or a individual car. Although its very very reliable, not one breakdown in 4
years, one broken window regulator clip and a new brake light switch needed
all common problems. But I think its time for a new ...

Car story 1911 style27 Jul 2007 22:15 GMT5
I bought a copy of a 1911 Thanet Times recently and found a report of a car
accident in it. Thought you lot might be interested to see it.
I just took some quick photos of a few bits of the paper and flung them on
my site using a laptop so if the pictures are tiny on your 24" ...
Deciphering VINs27 Jul 2007 18:16 GMT2
I've tried to find a site that describes the composition of a VIN, but in
vain. Does it contain information such as whether it's LHD/RHD? Does it
change with minor spec changes to the same mode?
Micra radio code27 Jul 2007 00:16 GMT5
Chaps.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get a working Blaupunkt radio/cassette
in a 1994 Micra K11 to reveal its code? We haven't got the code but I want
to move it to another car. It just says it's a code protected Blaupunkt on
Dual Circuit Braking systems26 Jul 2007 12:00 GMT8
I've been puzzling over this for some time.
Most cars have dual circuit brakes with two pistons in the master cylinder
and, typically, diagonal pairs of brakes on each circuit.
The idea being should one circuit fail and lose fluid, the other circuit will
UK Number Plates25 Jul 2007 09:42 GMT8
Polish friend asked me why UK cars have white number plates at the front and
yellow at the rear?
So you can tell the back or the front at a distance I said unconvincingly.
She was not convinced.

LHD import & headlamps21 Jul 2007 13:02 GMT6
I've placed an order for a new LHD vehicle from Belgium. To import I need to
get the lights swapped, but the price the dealer is quoting the units is
higher than I could order them directly from elsewhere.
Is there any way I can order these myself and get them fitted when I return
