I'm new to the UK and would like to buy a second-hand diesel saloon, around the £5000 mark. I was looking at a Peugeot 406, but they're like hen's teeth and I need a car fairly quickly. And suggestions on something similar? Need fuel economy, big boot, roomy interior.

Is there a web page showing a lookup table of UK registration year letters. Needs to be in a layout which can be cut-out and kept. For example, with credit cards in a wallet.

Once I buy my Peugeot 406 I'll need to insure it... well, they said the UK wasn't cheap. Do I have any chance of finding a company that will consider a non-EU no-claims record? (Australia - reasonably civilised).

I have the old paper type remember reading the new one has an expiry date where as you can "get away" with driving at an older age on the old paper one ?

I have ordered a new car on a PCP from Sainsburys Bank (trading as Freeway). The delivery date just keeps going back and back, is it just me of is anyone else have the same problems

I was behind a car today (Tigra), semi rural area, 30 mph. It was doing just shy of 25mph and all the time I was behind, the driver (middle aged with a mullett) was having an animated chat with the passenger. I overtook it and then got a flurry of flashing headlights.
