Recommend a 2nd hand diesel saloon?29 Sep 2007 15:05 GMT11
I'm new to the UK and would like to buy a second-hand diesel saloon,
around the £5000 mark. I was looking at a Peugeot 406, but they're
like hen's teeth and I need a car fairly quickly. And suggestions on
something similar? Need fuel economy, big boot, roomy interior.
Seek registration-letter table (credit card sized?)27 Sep 2007 19:18 GMT2
Is there a web page showing a lookup table of UK registration year
letters.
Needs to be in a layout which can be cut-out and kept.  For example,
with credit cards in a wallet.
And insurance with foreign no claims?27 Sep 2007 17:32 GMT2
Once I buy my Peugeot 406 I'll need to insure it... well, they said
the UK wasn't cheap.
Do I have any chance of finding a company that will consider a non-EU
no-claims record? (Australia - reasonably civilised).

Trailer plans21 Sep 2007 14:08 GMT6
I wish to build a small 6x4foot 4-wheel trailer for which I require scale
plans like Indespension used to have in their catalogue until they stopped a
few years ago!  Does anybody have an old copy of the Indespension catalogue
they are willing to scan the relevant page from, or ...

Road captains19 Sep 2007 21:58 GMT24
I was behind a car today (Tigra), semi rural area, 30 mph.
It was doing just shy of 25mph and all the time I was behind, the driver
(middle aged with a mullett) was having an animated chat with the passenger.
I overtook it and then got a flurry of flashing headlights.

Is there anywhere that does Universal Powered Aerials to connect to the

What's the collective wisdom of the group on these parking sensors? Do they
work OK? are they worth the money (total of about £24)?
