Tyres... Again...31 Oct 2007 20:59 GMT23
It's come to my attention in the not too distant future, I'll be needing new
rear tyres.  Presently thinking I'm gonna have Goodyear F1s ('cos Hi-Q keeps
a pair in stock...) - any reason why I shouldn't?  Size is 235/45/17 and I
presently have some mighty 'Nexan's' - which blow ...

According to the latest issue of the Association of British Drivers
magazine, On The Road, the government is going to outlaw smoking whilst
driving, along with all the other things that the stupid bunch of NuLabour
w.nkers have already oulawed.

For many years I have wanted to drive the med, Switzerland, France, Spain and Portugal in something special, primarily it was going to be a classic car, then as the years passed it was going to be a sports car or coupe so I settled on buying a fiat coupe 20v turbo for the trip, ...

National roll-out of hard shoulder as extra motorway lane?26 Oct 2007 19:43 GMT29
"Motorists will be allowed to drive on the hard shoulder of motorways during
busy times, Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly has said".

I have severe reservations about this.
Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class is it an Auto?26 Oct 2007 14:02 GMT7
Is the Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class an Auto? And therefore, it would be
impossible to change gear at high speed in it?
Clutch Slipping?26 Oct 2007 11:40 GMT5
OK I got a "reconditioned" gearbox put in. Now I think the clutch is
slipping. I've had the car for 6 years and never had the clutch done,
so I guess it's had a good innings considering I spent the last
few months without either 2nd gear, or 4th gear , or both.
How much to fix?25 Oct 2007 11:57 GMT14
Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how much this car will cost to fix and
what sort of damage has been doen to it - and is it worth it etc?
I am tyring to find out what category it has been written off under.
What do you thin ktis worth overall? to pay for it and to pay on fixing ...
Which reverse sensor ?25 Oct 2007 01:23 GMT7
Awkward drive involves multi-point maneuvres including "threats" (his
word!) to neighbour's fence.
Reverse sensor kit seems useful aid, but which? Saab's own is "offered"
at over £450, while Google lists suppliers with kits as low as £25.
Imported car - retaining foreign registration24 Oct 2007 21:55 GMT5
Trivially important, I know, but has anyone registered an import and managed
to hold on to the temp registration? I've just brought a new car from
Belgium, and would like to keep the Belgian registration, but the DVLA site
says it must be surrendered. I've got fuel/Eurotunnel ...
Mitsubishi Car Lancer 200824 Oct 2007 07:36 GMT3
Good news to know!! An everyday sedan with a sporty demeanor.
With the recent doubling of crude-oil prices, Mitsubishi's ninth-
generation Lancer is arriving at a time of renewed interest in
smallish sedans. As with most new vehicles, this latest Lancer is
VW Caddy Roof Panel23 Oct 2007 15:16 GMT5
I own a 02 plate caddy. The manual says its a van version of a car, just
like the berlingo ect ect ect. I'm trying to soundproof it a bit and was
wondering if there is a formed panel for the inside of the roof, just like
the car version, which doesnt exist the VW garage told me. ...
