Need to buy a diesel estate car of a fairly reasonable size and I've allowed about £6000 for it. I'm thinking Rover 75 or Mondeo maybe. Cheap-ish to service and repair is quite important. Any comments on the two cars mentioned above? Preferably from people who've owned one.

My 528i went in to have the rear bumper repaired on wednesday, and I was given a '52 reg Micra auto as a courtesy car. 35k on the clock. I would have preferred a manual, but that was all they had. Must say, I am quite impressed. Ride is firm without too much roll on

Lets say a logbook came through for a vehicle and near the bottom it said 'substantially repaired or accident damaged'. How much detail would a HPI check bring up? Would it make the situation any clearer or just restate the above?

I renewed my insurance in August for about £360 (comprehensive). I seem to recall telling them about the speeding offence in Jan and being told it would have a negligible effect on the premium. However as was getting quotes from other companies at the same time

i have just had i diagnostics test run on my vauxhall sintra there is a hand full of faults there is allso thick black oil in the air hose witch conects the turbo to the manifold there is no oil being burnd but the lad says i need a naw turbo but it somtimes it cuts out at around ...

Just watched the 2007 'Auto Trader Used Car Awards'. The Rover 75, '99 - '04 was voted the best family car. Ahead of the Ford Focus '98 - '04 and the Ford Mondeo '00 - '05. The Ford Focus RS '02 - '03 winning the hot hatch category.
