Anyone still use beam deflectors abroad?31 Mar 2008 12:02 GMT49
I tend to fly and hire when going to Europe these days but in a couple
of weeks I'll be taking my own car over to France. The last time I
fitted those stick on beam deflectors to my lights, they left a sticky
mess that I never got off.

I've got a 1999 BMW 316 Compact Sport (UK spec) and I've bought a new

there is just not enough space in the dash mounting for the audio
Petrol31 Mar 2008 09:12 GMT92
In WWII the first german jet fighters had 2 liquid fuels .
For want of a better description - both liquids being quite harmless on
their own - but when mixed together - whammo .
What if a car had 2 separate fuel tanks .

Rumours of a new Ford Capri

Lessons in the art of ZEN, smallest engine (1.8) won. It's got about
20bhp more than it's supposed to have (washers under wastegate
bracket?), the rest were all way down on makers claimed power.
Scabby old Golf28 Mar 2008 19:31 GMT7
I've just been given a scabby old F-reg Golf MK2, 1.8 4+E model. It's
"metallic maroon", has a scabby wing and door and a cheesy set of alloys.
Other than that it's done 190k. No history as such, but it's been in the
family for 12 years and has been reasonably well maintained. It ...

Nissan Primera gt or Citroen Xsara vts26 Mar 2008 22:54 GMT4
I wil be looking for a cheap runabout and have shortlisted both the
Primera gt or Citroen Xsara vts. Both seem to offer that little bit
more to the keener driver but have very low premiums compared to the
usual suspects, (BMW, 306 etc). which car would be the better buy as

Needs brakes sorting for MOT, bar that it's a nice reliable motor, ideal
first car for someone, or just a cheap run about.

£6000 to obuy a cart25 Mar 2008 10:13 GMT4
OK, so I've got £4k to £6k to buy a car.
Needs to be cheap to run, repair and insure.
Needs to last 10 years - so depreciation doesn't really matter.
Doesn't need to be fast or furious.
So you think you can outrun the police ?24 Mar 2008 08:50 GMT7
