The audi channel13 Jul 2008 21:21 GMT3
Was having a look through the channels on (sky freesat) and seen the
audi channel is available on channel 884 .
FYI: sky freesat is much the same as a freeview box as its a one off
payment with no monthly subscription .

Drive like Dan Dare. Treat your car like a spaceship. As soon as you
can, accelerate smoothly and gently up to a safe, appropriate (and

I've had loads of hassle off my current insurer (swiftcover) because
they want me to use their recommended repairer for repairs to my car.
Basically, the nearest recommended repairer was 40+ miles away (in
fact, in a different country!!!) so I told them to get stuffed and

Road Tax imported car12 Jul 2008 13:28 GMT17
We have an X registered (2000) BMW 525i. It spent its early life in Cyprus.
The registration Document states it was first registered in Jan 2001 and
first registered in UK in April 2005.
The DVLA are taking the 2005 date for road tax purposes so we are going to
Nitro cars12 Jul 2008 00:40 GMT8
Anyone had a tinker about with nitro cars over the years ?
Was thinking of buying one (I know they are not cheap) seems like a bit
of fun for indoor tinkering and nice when you can run it outside!
Just wondering if anyones had a go ?
Greenest car (cradle to grave)11 Jul 2008 13:24 GMT8
I got to thinking about reducing my carbon footprint the other day.  Not
seriously, just a "what if" exercise.  I started by podering what difference
it would make if I changed my car less frequently or bought older vehicles
and ran them for longer.  I don't think however that ...
Van hire co. falsely claiming I returned van with damage10 Jul 2008 20:48 GMT2
I hired a transit van last Saturday to collect a fireplace I'd bought.
Having given my credit card details we examined the van for dents etc
and these were marked on a sheet with a diagram of the van. There was
quite a few small marks or dents, nothing major. I felt a bit wary so
Car Insurance10 Jul 2008 18:53 GMT5
Last year I told my insurance company that I only did about 13000 miles a
year, as it happens I actually did about 14000. When I renew I suppose I
should tell them that I will now be doing about 14000 a year. Does any body
have a clue how much more it is likely to cost me? My ...
Skoda Octavia - Sat Nav problems10 Jul 2008 10:15 GMT3
In September 2007 I took delivery of a new Skoda Octavia Est. L&G with the
Sat Nav option. Although the Skoda Sat Nav has TMC (Traffic Message Channel)
to show road delays,  the car was shipped with a non-TMC disc, very helpful.
Skoda sent a TMC enabled disc, but the disc was ...
Stupid car drivers09 Jul 2008 11:43 GMT16
Yesterday i made a post saying i had given up the car .
Although really just a post to say the cost of motoring has become so
expensive that to me it was no longer worth owning a car and spending x
amount on the various yearly running costs .

After successfully making it through the first year of driving without
crashing into anything, 18 yr old daughter is saving for a slight upgrade to
the 1989 Toyota Starlet she's been pootling about in.
Could we please have some recommendations for something around the £500-£600
What do you think - scammer?07 Jul 2008 14:49 GMT5
My wife knocked the wing mirror on another car recently. She stopped, and
admitted it was her fault and asked the guy to get in touch about it. He was
very aggressive. She said he was driving a "biggish car (passat size) but
was a bit tatty".
Anybody heard of or used a "Broquet"?06 Jul 2008 22:03 GMT5

A question for those drivers self employed with a vehicle registered to their company?06 Jul 2008 17:00 GMT2
Can you claim back VAT on fuel if you are VAT registered like you can on
other VAT items?
How much a litre does it work out?
Can you claim back the VAT on the duty too?
