New Lexus IS250C30 May 2009 16:10 GMT18
The good folk at Lexus have just offered me a test drive of their new
convertible, and  I was quite taken with it until I saw the price, which
strikes me as outrageous. Can any of you gurus give a rational explanation
why it is £10k more than the non-convertible option? That's ...

Should I Buy a Kia?30 May 2009 09:14 GMT60
I've been looking around for a new car and, not being a badge snob, I'm
looking at a cheap Far Eastern brand. At the moment, I'm looking at the
for and against.
Against: An unknown quantity; some of them are really quite ugly; poor
Secondhand car prices?28 May 2009 16:51 GMT94
I was just looking at autotrader and musing about possibly getting a
secondhand Focus. We need an automatic, and there are hundreds to choose
from within a reasonable distance. I was interested to see that there are
low mileage examples (under 40k) about 4-5 years old for £3k-4k, ...
Yet another "what car?" post28 May 2009 07:30 GMT29
Not for me however. For my mum and her hubby. Both 60 now. They want to
spend between 3 and 4k on a small four door hatch. She did want a
Berlingo type thing a while back, but after driving one she decided it
was too big- I'm thinking Fabia sized as she saw one in the street and

MORE than one in ten drivers use their cars as "love-mobiles" to
indulge in passion with their partners, a poll today shows.
This behaviour by 12 per cent of drivers is just one of a list of bad
driving habits, according to the survey.

How much is this van worth?19 May 2009 17:19 GMT38
I have been asked to make an offer on a van, else it is going to
auction, I think they would prefer me to take it.  I want it to turn
into a minimal camper van for 1 person to go surfing (and possibly
skiing) in.  Any advice apperiatiated.

Campervan insurance during convertion17 May 2009 15:24 GMT6
I have just purchased a transit connect van (see thread at [1]).  It
is currently a "normal" van, but I intend to use it as a campervan.  I
will do some minimal work on it, like putting in a light at the back
and a couple of shelves.  I do not know when I will get round to this

"Mileage remaining" on Fords12 May 2009 22:12 GMT46
I've had Volvos and a Saab which had a "mileage remaining" display, and
found these tolerably accurate.
Recently bought a used Mondeo, and find its mileage remaining wildly
erratic. For example, I can do a short trip (3 miles, say), with the
